This means that I can book for my July trip and the coupon will be deduction will be reflected at the end of the booking?

thanks.

yes, that's right. 10k coupon is very good ... better book fast ... check whether got minimum spend to apply

book by 15th Jan, for travel between 1 Feb to 31 Aug 2019.

the most i ever gotten was 7k coupon (no min. spend) :s13:

some car companies offer CDW as an option on Jalan/Rakuten .. sometimes, there will be promos where CDW is free (eg Honda [blue logo] offers CDW option online but Honda [red logo] does not)

NOC is seldom offered as an option on Jalan/Rakuten.

where CDW or NOC is not offered online, you would have to enquire with the car rental company ... u can try asking Jalan or Rakuten to put you in touch with the car rental company to indicate you want CDW/NOC ... most car rentals will offer CDW/NOC insurance

IIRC, CDW insurance shld not cost more that JPY 1080 per day while NOC insurance ranges from JPY 540 to JPY 1080 per day.

Thanks Oceanic. I only stated 6 days because the rest of the days will be in Sapporo so probably will be travelling via public transport. I was also thinking about taking 24"-26" instead of 28".

But after booking with Jalan, do you directly contact the rental company to get the price for NOC/CDW?

actually, i have gotten a coupon from Jalan. I do roughly understand a little of Japanese but can I get your advice if my understanding is correct?

Thanks Wongkc. You mentioned that it will be a must to put down the last row. Can I just check that you mean one of the seat in the last row because if 5 adults + 1 child, i will probably need 1 more adult sitting at the back right?

Would you also be able to advise how much was the courier fee for your luggage?

I never go play around with putting down the seat as i do not need to... I am assuming it can be put down like most other MPV... thus i am unsure whether it can put down just one seat or two seats or the whole row...

i remember the boot space is roughly abt the depth of a 32" luggage... so we have to lay the luggage on its side and make the last row more 90deg upright in order to fit in...

courier service is abt S$25 per luggage (not more than 25kg)...

actually, 95K for 6 days seem quite expensive for Serena ... did u sort the Jalan search results by price (default search result is sorted by Recommendation) ?

Morning. Yeah, i sorted by price.

Probably because I will be taking the car from 18 9am to 24 10am and not returning back to the airport and i think it includes NOC? 免責補償込.

Will probably take your advice, book first then in Mar/Apr review again.

Are you renting from their Chitose Airport outlet ?

I had rented from E-Rental Car, which is another company under Excia Japan (https://excia.jp/english). E-Rental & Samurai shares the same office & staff at the Chitose Airport Long Term Parking area.

I find the service staff is very good and accommodating. However, their English is limited but they are helpful eg) automatically try to use Google translate to get message across.

You can also email them (Excia or Samurai), someone from their HQ will respond in English.

Thank Oceanicmanta for the reply.
I don't intend to direct booking from Samurai because the rate will be higher.
I will book via EasyRentCars.
They give a better rate and also with" Price Drop Protector "
My intention to book with the basic Protect package and let my travel insurance to pay the excess if unforeseen circumstance happen.

Can those who had used EasyRentCars App or Samurai car rent give your review, any hassle involved?

Actually how many months/weeks in advance is considered good enough to book?

can start looking 3 to 4 months ahead ... just to check for early bird promos .. then check back again every few weeks ... but jalan will ping emails (some not relevant) with promos once u r registered member

I think it's just lost in translation :

"insured up to the amount of coverage limits" - refers to the coverage under basic insurance package that's provided with car rental

"Compensation Coverage" - refers to insurance cover for Damage Excess / Deductible
thanks for info

Still unsure if I should drive all the way down to Hakodate for a night stay. Is it worth it?
