Yeah, I think the Ikea Tradfri range in Singapore is strange too. They have the dimmer but no bulb at all. The dimmer can work with the bulb directly (using Zigbee), there is no need of the hub. The staff told me that she has no idea when the bulbs will be coming.

According to Ikea SG (Facebook post, the bulbs will be available May 2019.

I'm looking forward to the full range of Tradfri products to be sold here at Ikea SG.

7 new items from Tradfri were added to Ikea SG online catalogue including the gateway and 5 LED bulbs but atm no stock when I checked today.

Looks promising and probably on time for May 2019 launch :)

Aqara light switch and gateway hub

Hi All,

I am interested to try out Aqara light switch and gateway hub for my home. Link it to my google home to give voice command, like turn on/off lights.

Anyone have experience linking the gateway hub to google home? I understand that we can now link MI account to Google, but not all product will appear in Google home, just want to check if the light switch is supported.

Thanks for the advice in advance :)

Does anyone have articles I can read what I should be planning to do for a new BTO? Like I want to wire all my light switches to some sort of wifi connected thing. I read that a few switches require a live + neutral connection but a lot of flats their light switch is just connected to live and cut off when you switch off.

I tried to do the same last year but sadly alot of resource online are not really Singapore context. This thread however have alot of good information. You can start by reading from the front and ask any further questions

Desireeee on carousell is the official broadlink distributor in Singapore. It's weird her selling platform is on carousell tho. But she's really helpful. Or you can just buy on Lazada

I'm using funry switch, so far so good. Also bought from desireeeee.

I second that. At first I was sceptical about an official distributor on Carousell of all places (a platform typically associated with low-ballers), but her reviews there won me over. I have been using eTouch switches for a year but Desiree no longer carries it.

Anyway, I’m told there will be an official Broadlink showroom opening in Woodlands industrial soon and new products will be added. You might want to wait for it in the event there’s some opening sale.

Is there a reason why you don't want to do neutral wiring? I see that there are way more products that are compatible if you are able to also wire neutral.

eTouch is not an official broadlink product. It's ex broadlink official distributor's product. Ever since desireee took over the distribution rights for msia this year, she stopped carrying eTouch products.

Then you obviously only know YOUR own products and not other products.

No one is claiming to be a professional except you here. Have some humility.

Multi way switching is easily done through assigning switch buttons to groups.

Wake up and smell the java la,

See his nick. Read it out loud.

Tells u alot.

Plan your network and electrical wiring before everything else like carpentry etc.
there's no guide online but plan ahead to have the following.

1) Wiring neutral to all switch points. Ask electrician to pull from Light to switch point or route one from the an adjacent electrical socket point if available.

2) Plan extra power points for these if you want future proof and not run trunking for automating these:
- Water heater, plan a contactor switch for these so you can use any smart switches. So you need 2 pairs of live wires at the contactor point. One article here
- curtains, blind, put one at each window area.
- balcony/outdoor blinds if u have one and plan to automate it.
- CCTV/wireless speaker/or Other sensors, u can do POE route plan Lan points to these areas or have power to these areas.

2) Lan access points for whole house to put wifi AP or mesh. Don't let your wifi to be your weakest link in home automation if everything else is good but wifi sucks. Plan POE points if you doing AP and installing smart cams.

If you plan to use wifi for smart home, I assume you will have "always on" smart lights and control it via something. So you probably have less switch point, u probably need to consider if they can set to "default off" when power on after a power trip and seal off the switch to these lights so no one accidentally off it too. then you'll need to ensure you map your electrical to the switch board so u know which breaker to shut off when changing bulbs..

Xiaomi Aqara new product

Xiaomi Aqara Relay Controller and Article

Connection diagram:

Looks like it works with normal light switches and meant to be installed inside the ceiling and can control 2 lights.

Already supported in zigbee2mqtt. Xiaomi's 2-gang Zigbee version of Shelly 1 relay.
