A colleague of mine who has this card was hit with a large fraudulent transaction done overseas in a country she has never travelled to, while she was in Singapore. Called the bank within minutes (thankfully) of the SMS alert about the transaction and got the card blocked. ICBC credited her card account with the amount about 3 weeks later, so she was not liable to pay it. The matter however is still under investigation.
- 3 months have passed and her credit limit is still blocked by the amount of the fraudulent transaction, basically making the card useless.
- The bank has since rejected her applications for a permanent credit limit increase and also for a temporary credit limit increase.
AND NOW GET THIS:
- A month after her card was blocked, a fraudulent transaction was made again using the OLD (apparently blocked) card number overseas, and the transaction posted to her account!! (Albeit, she didn't have to pay it, but the credit limit remains blocked for this additional amount also)
Is ICBC from the stone ages or what?
