I have Redmi phone which can track the data usage (actual). If the MVNO charges at 10K or 100K per block, then the usage on their app and the phone will have quite a large discrepancy, right ?

Will have big discrepancy if all you do is text throughout the day, especially with those that OCW website claims is 1MB block(which I think is false).

u don't have to keep texting throughout the day... alot of your apps are constantly sending messages in the background all the time the whole day to check for updates... things like your gmail.. facebook... whatsapp... telegram.. playstore (to check for updates) these messages are quite small one...

there is no start/stop at network level... from 3G onwards it's packet switched network... unlike 2G it is circuit switch network (or your dial-up modems) where it's still by session based...

so in a packet switch network your network is "ON" all the time... and everything is just sent via discrete data packets... when u listen to the packets in the network all u see are individual packets...

the start/stop part is at application level already... but underlying the network doesn't know and doesn't care what application you are...

Using redONE. The difference is about 50 MB between my Android data tracker and app tracker

Maybe he has reused the code that time now thus it is free.

Redone will throttle data if exceeds the limit. This way is better.

That's good. As my mum don't use data or WhatsApp as she don't know how to key in English words or key in Hanyu Pinyin, she use the write the actual chinese character keypad into msg till she fedup.
She always call direct instead.

The free incoming call and 500 minutes outgoing suit her.
