Been using the dual band for a while now but want to change my configuration due to a new pc purchase.

So this is my current setup:

{TP} --> {ONT} --D1--> {V1} --> {Switch} --> TV, Hue, Others
{V2} and {V3} connected wirelessly to {V1} as slaves to master V1 node
Only {TP} and {ONT} are in DB Box

Got a few things I'm not quite sure about as I'm super new to home networking (always just plug and play haha) and will really appreciate all the experts help.

1. If I want to use ethernet backhaul for my nodes, using the rooms' data points like D3 and D4, does that mean I need to put a router inside the DB box then link it to my master node? Will the internet still come from Velop or will Velop act as bridge by that point?
2. To plug in my PC through wired connection to V3 node, can I just plug in an ethernet cable to my slave node directly?

Thanks in advance for the help!

This means I have the put the Velop inside the cabinet with DB box?
Is there another way? My V1 is connected to TV and other devices that’s why it’s placed outside and connected to D1.

hi guys,

needed some Advice. currently i'm using Asus 1200g+ which is a lousy router from M1. thinking to switch to mesh Ap.
but currently i have a desktop in my room and i'm using Power Plug to provide internet to my desktop.
currently using 3 port output on my AP. 1st is to my TV box, 2nd is to CCTV, 3rd is to my home plug.

i check that the velop only have 2 Ethernet port, which i assume 1 is to be connected to modem and the other is the spare port?

if i were to change to velop meaning i need to get a additional switch to support more than 1ethernet output?

Thanks - I was considering this option.

This means I cannot use the Velop wifi already right, have to use the new router's wifi.

Buying a second 1200G+ for cheap on carousell and putting it where you intend the velop might solve all the issues for less

Hi all, just bought Velop WHW0103 (3 nodes). Wanna seek for advice is this setup for my 4-room BTO correct?

Alrdy setup and im enjoying wireless coverage throughout the house for my mobile device. Signal slightly weaker at 2 bars at service yard but still can stream video.

Just wanna check is my setup utilized anot.

ONT -> linksys EA8100 router-> 3 network port

Node 1-> network port @ living room-> wired connection for tv

Node 2 wireless-> study room
Study room network port -> desktop PC for wired connection

Node 3 wireless-> masterbed room
MBR network port -> for any device connecting via wired

Hi,
Anyone using 2 gbps with Velop.
My setup as follows:
Viewqwest router - switch - lan network - switch - velop/other devices like tv.

Velop is in bridge mode. IP controlled by viewqwest router. Wireless on viewqwest router disabled.

For 2 gbps, how it’s provided is that they use 2 lan cables from the same router. This should theoretically go into the first switch. However, when I do so, I notice that my devices will periodically hang for 30-60s and then start working again. This happens every 10-20 mins. When I use only 1 lan cable which would be equivalent to having a 1 gbps plan, everything is fine.

My suspicions are that this is caused by IP conflict or when a device is routing from 1 to the other lan cable. Just a pure guest.

Any solutions to make this work?

Thanks.

All my rooms are already having ethernet cables linking back to my switch. Can the setup be as follows :

Modem --> Router (No Wifi) --> Switch --> Linksys Velops

Can the setup be done in this manner?

Wanna ask about why my child node at masterbed room keep connecting to my main node which is furthest away from it at the living room.

I have another child node in the middle room. Then end up my MBR child node keep showing yellow colour LED which means signal strength not good.

Any advice on this? Thanks

If you are connecting the nodes via wifi, u need line of sight for it to work better. If not; if u have lan ports, the nodes can be connected up via lan to offer wired backhaul.

I manage to connect my MBR node via ethernet cable and now my node is solid blue now.

However when i try to add this node in linksys app it keep showing node cant connect to others. So now this MBR node is not showing in the app whereas the other 2 nodes exist in the app.

Any idea how to add this MBR node into the app?

Hi all. I'm planning to buy Linksys velop Triband to set up mesh. But I realised the each node has only 2 ethernet port. I need at least 4 ethernet port (for TV, Nas and home theatre). Any solutions? Can we use Ethernet switch? Can please recommend a ethernet switch that works with velop? And provide a link to buy ethernet switch. Thank you.
