GX20040X is looking like a very good Singapore Savings Bond. Given the current market conditions we could see a 30 or even 40 basis point drop in the 10 year SSB yield next month.

If you'd like to lock in a now very reasonable interest rate schedule for the next 10 years, this SSB is the one to buy. "Last call," basically, probably for a while. Then, if interest rates increase in the future, you should be able to redeem and recycle your dollars fairly quickly into something else, such as a new SSB.

Singapore Savings Bonds are among the safest available places to park Singapore dollars, backed by the full faith and credit of the Government of Singapore. They are very conservative instruments, a good choice for emergency reserve funds and for saving for specific planned spending in Singapore, such as a tuition bill expected in the next couple years.

We should take note that stock prices are broadly lower than they were a month ago, and buyers (i.e. savers and wealth accumulators) should find lower prices attractive. If apples are on sale at the supermarket, and if you're a regular consumer of apples (or at least of fruit), do you get upset and walk away from the lower priced apples? No, you buy some, maybe a few more. I certainly don't recommend you stop or reduce your regular monthly, low cost, well diversified stock investing to buy this SSB.

It is better to buy A35 right now. It is available at 2% YTM mainly because of the sudden demand for cash, people are liquidating this ETF at 4% discount.

If you guys have a brokerage account, buy A35 guys.

Early this mth, i was considering whether to redeem my ssb to buy stocks since the prices drop so much then. Now that it is approaching to the last day of redemption, i am having 2nd thought due to the current covid19 situation. :p Maybe i will regret missing the boat but good luck to those brave 1s.

If your normal portfolio rebalancing is scheduled for this month, then go right ahead and proceed as long as your long-term outlook is substantially the same and as long as you maintain adequate emergency reserve.
