Many Singaporeans laugh at "evil commie" China.

Sadly, we are on track to surpass them to become North Korea, with a full blown dictatorship that surpasses communism.

They could install Ezlink tap or ERP charge on the device so people had no choice to bring it out? AXS quick payment for bills and fine so have no reasons to delay payment?

They're inviting trouble from engineers/ computer scientists. This will not hold on their books. Personally, if I am one of them I would find ways to breach this and exploit vulnerabilities. So much for privacy.

What a great waste of resources! We really need so strong opposition voices in Parliament. It's getting worse by the day!

Agreed, having more voices to make decisions a little slower but sounder is better than a single voice making decisions quickly and impulsively.

Policies have far reaching impact on citizenry and should be concluded slowly and debated hotly before becoming laws.

The more we show that there are no repercussions to implementing strict laws, the more they're gonna push their luck and implement tighter control over us. At what point do we stop sucking thumb sia :/ personally, this whole tracking thing is the last straw for me..

Criminal got ankle tag.

Citizens got tracing device.

they alrdy have a rough idea of where you are by mobile phone, just not accurate enough for contact tracing

but very useful if can know hu tcb is meeting, for example

Judging from their requirements, it is pretty easy to tell they're using Bluetooth beacons to do the contact tracing and transmitting of information from app to app aside from just your usual location tracking. There are tons of ways to exploit this and there is no way they can do anything about it.

1. Spoof the signal with more Bluetooth beacons around transmitting at the same channel with the same packets.

2. Overwhelm the Bluetooth signal with another beacon transmitting on the same channel at a much higher transmit power.

3. The old trick on blocking out any form of UHF signal such as WiFi and Bluetooth: Faraday Cage. So just wrap that device in aluminium foil and it'll block out any form of transmitting and receiving.
