Given a choice, will you buy a Class 2B, Class 2A or Class 2 bike? And which model do you recommend?

Had been a rider for more than 2 decades.
My two cents is going for 2a, it's honestly fast enough to kill you, and slow enough to road hog.

Of course unless you are travelling a lot of traffic city riding then no brainer 2b, or always heading out sg then 1litre bike.

Or else, a good 2a with a few decent mod will give you the best of both world.

Will recommend Super4. Once you ride a powerful stable bike, u will not want a 2b bike anymore.
But I got into a motorbike accident before, now no more ride.

I rode class 2 bike most of my life.
I prefer class 2B. Light and easy to move around.

Harleys are shiatty bikes. Slow as hell. All show no go and you spend all your free time polishing. Spend so much get 1960s technology. I had a road king b4.

Not cheap to maintain at all :s22:

The Super 4 Vtec III or Revo prices are very steep in the second-hand market.

Even COEed Super 4 also quite expensive.

But yes, very cheap to maintain.

Sometimes still prefer the agile 2B for city commute. Super 4 on expressway any day :s12:

2b no need to say, underpower. Good for those who just need cheap transport and don't need power or people who tried class 2 and want something light and simple.

2a more than enough for SG road. Pick up already faster than most 2l cars.

If want to touch class 2. Can consider 600cc. Light enough and not as crazy hot as the larger cc. They're not as popular in SG due to most people with class 2 thinking might as well buy bigger cc so you can get some good deals 2nd hand.

I previously bought a 2yo 600cc road bike that is cheaper than a 2yo super4. The bike was going for about 1/2 it's original price.

Riding a Suzuki 650cc s40 bike, rather small and underpowered. Here, 650cc below are considered learner bikes

Used to have both at the same time. Usually 2b I prefer scooter don't need think of gear change for a powerless bike.. Owned 20 motorbikes before. Last one i rode mt09...

A lot of ppl think Class 2 bikes look cool and grand, but they don't see the downsides to it eg high maintenance cost, cannot lane split, hot machine(literally boil your balls), difficult to find parking, heavy, girls don't get wet when they see it etc

What is your opinion?

Was advise that Class 2A is the sweet spot between power and manoeuvrability.

Class 2B bikes are light and easy to manoeuvre in Singapore's traffic. But is underpowered on expressways. And cannot accelerate out of dangerous situations.

Class 2 bikes are too heavy and too powerful, especially in start-stop traffic. Maintenance can be more costly too. Was told a Cam-An Spyder or Honda Goldwing's maintenance cost more than a 1.6L bread and butter saloon.

So Class 2 A bikes is the sweet-spot?

Class 2A is a decent choice for many bikers based on value and variety. However personally I've preferred having a class 2 bike purely for passion and power. For many years you could not buy a Ducati or MV Augusta unless you had a class 2. These days Ducati has a few class 2A offerings but their core lineup caters towards the higher CC segment.

In terms of maintenance i think i spent more money in my ownership of a Yamaha r6 compared to my Ducati monster. But that's my personal take.

I can relate to your last sentence. When i was looking for a daily street bike i found the fz6 cheaper than super4. With the exception of a higher road tax, overall maintenance costs are the same.
