1. You need to have USD in your USD settlement account before you can trade.

2. Not sure about US prime REITs but I can buy any shares on NYSE and NASDAQ

3. I think cannot directly transfer into settlement account from another bank. Need to transfer to another scb account like esaver. If you have account with scb you can use livefx to get better fx rates when you convert SGD to USD.

Hi, I would like to ask a question on the following whether is it illegal or not.

Eg, Transfer fund of $5k to a multi currency account on other platform to earn the 1% cashback which is $50. After that then transfer the $5k back to the bank acc via fast transfer..

Sounds like fraud but is it legal/allowed?

Does anyone know if you're able to transfer USD from your USD settlement acct out of SC? I'm thinking of switching over to Interactive Brokers. Also for US stocks, able to 'port over' to IB?

USD out of settlement account? May be can TT, but cost is higher than using a USD current account with USD cheque.

If you port over to IB, beware of US estate duty as all cash in IB is subjected to US estate duty if > US$60k!

If Buy order is filled but didn't received the sms notification, will the system send out later? Order was FF in the afternoon.

I key in an order. Price meets target but it is not done. Strange. No idea why is it like this?

Maybe still in Queue?...price meet doesn't mean will get Filled. Maybe there are other orders with the same price ahead of you?

How do you get a US$ cheque?

are you able to transfer US dollars from SCB USD high account to SCB US$ settlement account? It's an internal transfer right?

I just had the same problem. Waiting for SMS and thought didn't make it but system was actually FF. I still received banking notifications today but not the trading transaction. Settings all ok. It's been 3 months since I traded on SC though, so dunno if anything changed. Maybe overwhelmed these few days so they switched off the notification system?

I usually receive app, sms and email notifications immediately. Only delayed (by hours) on rare occasions.
