few pages back, some user here mentioned that you won't be able to apply for BTO as long as the current house of yours has not yet met the MOP
have to wait for the 5th year then you can apply

edited: never thought of calling up HDB and ask?

Ya.. same as what I heard also

Haha, you still want to apply again? Your area so nice.

come to think of it, I may not have the money to apply for 2nd BTO (take it BTO in 2023) as the down payment requires $50k if the 3rm costs $500k

That was a couple of years back. I heard they tighten the rules, can only apply after MOP.

Nope. I emailed to HDB. their reply as follows:

You can apply as long as your old resale flat meets the MOP requirements when you collect your BTO keys.

We refer to your email of 13 Nov 2019.

2 We wish to share that with effect of February 2019 sales exercise, HDB has rationalised the policies and will require owners of non-subsidised flats to have occupied their flats for at least 5 years before they may apply for a new flat from HDB or an EC unit from the property developer. You informed us that your resale flat (without CPF Housing Grant) was bought in Mar 2017, thus you are not affected. You may apply for a BTO flat as long as the delivery possession date of the BTO flat falls on or after the minimum occupation period for your current resale flat.

but the question is:
can you apply for BTO while your current BTO house hasn't met the MOP?

This is correct. As long as NO GRANTS are taken and the resale fulfills MOP upon key collection of the new bto. If the bto completed before your resale MOP'ed, den cannot. If you took grants for your resale, den also cannot.

However if it is a bto instead of resale, den you have to fulfill MOP before you can apply. Becos bto is a subsidised flat.

Above are the same if you are applying for new EC.

First batch of BTO flats in Park district in Singapore's newest town Tengah set for launch

Such a nice plan only to be ruined by the (expanding) tengah air base over there. They don't dare to report that it'll be noisy but a look at Punggol/sengkang or jurong west residents complains everyday and you'll know.:s13::s13::s13:

Forest-y life style paired with noise from fighter jets....something doesn't match up.
