Im saying Chinese singaporeans = chinese by race, Singaporeans by nationality.

Same with the Taiwanese. They never denied they were Chinese either. They have always maintained that they were the de facto China Chinese. They are just not Communist Chinese.

PRC or tiongs ish unofiicial tags. race or regionalities only applies among ppl of the same nationality. when u are talking about ppl from diff countries, chinese ish always the citizenship, the PRCs and tiongs. only when u are talking with ppl from the same country, eg, all sinkies talking, then chinese, malays, indians etc refers to the race within the same citizentry. same thing among tiongs, they are chinese, among themselves, then shanghainese, beijingers or cantonese.

likewise, when u go visit other countries, u are a singaporean as per ur passport, not a chinese, lol. only when ppl ask u about the ethnic specifics, then u are a chinese singaporean.

We aren't PRCs, but those of us who are Chinese, we are unmistakably Chinese, we eat Chinese food and practice Chinese customs.

Chinese is not a nationality.

Anyway there is no place for hating any country in Singapore.

We are friends with China, just as we are with India and the USA.

Maybe it is easier for these people to see if we use Malay and Indian Singaporeans as an example to differentiate.

Just because a Malay or Indian Singaporean dislike the Malay Malaysians or India Indians, does not mean that they identify less with their ethnic group.

As far as I know, the Malays in Singapore remain proudly and unabashedly Malay, and the Indians proudly Indian as well.

Actually for race most Singaporean Chinese are Han (汉）and maybe some other minorities like the Manchus (满）。。。

We should use Han instead of Chinese for race?
