Schroder Asian Growth
Schroder Asian Income

If you are looking for established fund house, can consider Blackrock, it goes steady but dividend yield of its fund is not as attractive as other similar fund type.

DIVA has a really solid track record so can’t go wrong with DCA for that.

Solid track record - really?

Why is First State Dividend Advantage popular among unit trust investors? It also seems to be recommended e.g. by various unit trust distributors. However, it's returns (although positive for 1 year and 3 years) seem to be lower than many other unit trusts. So why do people still choose to invest in this unit trust?

I am also curious why a lot of people invested in First State Dividend Advantage. The price is currently high, not sure if it's worth to buy now.

First State Bridge
First State Greater China

first state bridge annual management fee is 1.25%.

I also see banks put another 'trail fee' of half the amf, say 0.625%

should i add 1.25 + 0.625 to get total annual fees, or it is just 1.25%? :s11:

Trailer fees come from management fees.

Though its returns are far from the most impressive, the fund is a consistent performer. If you look at the prices for the past ten years, they have been on a steady rise. Furthermore, it gives out quarterly dividends, the same of which cannot be said of most unit trust funds.

If you’re aiming for high returns, you need to look elsewhere. Consider riskier unit trust funds or financial instruments.

First State Dividend Advantage gives out quarterly dividends because it is a distributing unit trust (by default).

Most unit trusts offered to the Singapore retail investor are accumulating unit trusts. This means there are dividends but the dividends are automatically reinvested (by the fund manager).

So why is First State Dividend Advantage popular among unit trust investors?
