Incense urn outside hall of great strength. Mine can use for 上供 and 下施..so don't think have issue.

Usually will bring along 5 cone incense for each visit.

Just curious, where you put the 下施 cone? I really like the Kong Meng San Monastery's pics. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks to everyone’s contributions here, I’ve realized that I can simply offer water to my “altar”.
I have a book with Guan Yin’s image, a photo of Bugis Temple’s Statue (given to me by the helper) and a drawing of Di Zhang Wang (I found in those free distribution kiosk under HDB).

Because my parents worried about fire hazard, I’m not allowed to burn oil lamps.
So when I read here that I can simply offer just water. I was very relieved.

Question now would be.

(1) What type of water should I use? Is tap water ok?
(2) How frequently should I change the water?
(3) How do I dispose of the old water? What I did was I open my window and pour it out dedicating it to all sentient beings. Is this correct? Are there other ways? Can I drink the water? Is it good to drink the water? Can I trick my mum into drinking the water so she can be blessed? (She’s not Buddhist, she is also not Christian, she has no religious beliefs for now)
(4) I don’t use a cup, I opted to use the glass lotus leftover of the oil lamp after the oil finished burning. Can I use this to offer water instead?

ya been 2 months. and i cant talk to anyone else about what im experiencing cos they think im crazy. its the same reaction i get when guan yin and amituofo appeared in my dream. they think im hallucinating. :( whenever i search for answers and ask around i always get the sketpical response so im used to it sadly. the energy im feeling in my hands is 24/7 even when eating and away from any electrical applicances.

i cant blame them though when people share their personal stories e.g. my mom in jb highway during 7 month met with an accident she shouted amituofo and the car stopped spinning. car got squashed in half but none of them injured. not even a bruise. nothing happened to my uncle aunt and mom but the following week when they return to jb 2 fish 1 bird died. 3 souls for 3 souls. certain things cant be explained.

yes, this is the only place I could seek advice on my dreams too..AMTF

印光大师年谱

http://www.nianjing.net/boruo/books/0837.htm

1. Yes
2. Daily
3. All acceptable. If you want your mother to drink, please cover the water up to prevent impurities from getting into the water. You may hold the cup of water and recite mantra. Alternatively, buy the bottled water, make offering and recite mantra. She won't suspect that you have already made offering if the bottled water is unopened.
The Chinese uses the covered cup with Great Compassion Dharani written on it.
4. Yes, as long as it's clean.

1. ARGHAM ~ DRINKING WATER OFFERING
This water offering cleanses the throat. It symbolizes the auspiciousness of ALL the positive cause and effect which bring ALL positive effects of speech. It's an offering that are full of actions of loving kindness to break down negative emotions that accumulated through beginning less times. The water element that has the qualities of flexibilities that flows through obstacles and blockages

"Offering is very important when accumulating merit. When we offer there are many purities, such as the object; Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Offerer has to have pure mind: with devotion, confidence and joy of offering. The offered substances has to be pure. They are not, if you offer something with your clinging or desire, nor if you buy wrongly, gain it by killing, steal it, get it with lying etc.

We are offering water: water is pure and it used to be free in ancient times and it still is at Tibet. Thoughts such as "if i offer too much" or "If i offer too much, i don't have myself" don't arise. Water offering is very special."

wow there's a whole procedure to it
but my take away is to have the heart and intention to offer it to sentient beings and hungry ghost

while I won't follow the procedure stated in this video, I will dedicate the water with intention as I pour it out the window as a form of "Hui Xiang"

Any Multi Vitamin for Vegetarian?

Instead of multi-vitamin, you can consider buying those herbal soup pack from supermarket, boil it, add mee hoon/noodle into the soup, or eat with rice, or just drink as it is.
