Since iPhone X, most people already not using the in box charger. The phone can be charged at 18w but it come with a 5w charger. You anyhow buy a charger from outside also got 12w. If next iPhone is really portless then it will be more weird if they never give wireless charger. So there is some possibility next iPhone will come with wireless charger
Why didn't they put in a 12w or 18w charger?

So 'giving back' 1 charger now is to compensate for 'oversupply' of unwanted chargers before?

No, I think it’s because they are pushing people to use wireless charging. As it maybe the only way to charge the next iPhone

Wireless charging tech still stuck in infant stages. Even apple won't make any breaking news because they, too, kope from others and repackage it as their own label.

It will either be stupidly slow, or it will be fast but heats up the phone and kills the battery faster.

Same sentiments.

I can never understand why there are people who want to use wireless charging over wired charging given an option to choose.

It is slower and warmer. :s22:

Because it’s convenient. Time is not an issue as I charge overnight. It’s the same as placing it on your table. As for the heat, playing 3D games is much hotter

They conveniently factor in high price but... U are getting just the phone nothing else.
If you are an existing customer, use your old charger and save some marnee. Apple good to customer.

Huh? I use my GaN USB-C PD charger and I charge finish chop chop. If I want to go out in an hours time and I want to charge my phone quickly, i will use USB-PC PD charging.

I have NEVER use wireless charging on my iphone ever since it was introduced years ago.

Why would I want to use such a slow, inefficient charging given a choice? :s22:

No need to plug in. When reach home instead of putting the phone on the table, just put it on the charger. Now iPhone battery life can last me 1 day with no problem so no need to charge in between also. Unless I forgot to charge at night then I’ll use the pd charger the next morning

Next year they will omit it like the headphone jack

First they mock then they follow. Next year or so they will copy apple's business strategy. Always the case.

Ya la knn lol
