Anyone else playing Cyberpunk 2077? On my Legion 5 4800h 16gb/rtx2060 and finding it heating up quite a lot and the fans are going off like a vacum cleaner! Very worrying

It bad code by the software developer side.
Cyberpunk quite badly opimised for ryzen apus including ryzen 5950x.

You need to modify some part of the code in cyberpunk file to get 20 percent increase in performance.

Already done that haha. The exe hexedit and config file for memory settings.

Even intel i9 with rtx 2080 super is only able to around 15-30 fps

At highest graphic settings, Cyberpunk is like the 2nd most demanding game after Flight simulator

Any one experience short battery life for Legion 5 AMD 4800H? My set's battery life is running like around 2 hours, or less. Didn't really count the time, but it drains very fast. No gaming at all, just replying some emails or using video conferencing.

Even Sony also removed from playstation store. Too many bugs. Only gaming pc can handle

Ps4/5 too weak

Quiet, balance or performance?

2) whats the brightness?

3) whats your battery size? 60Whr or 80Whr

Anyway... video conferencing munch away the battery more than netflix

Cuz it utilizes a lot of resources and functions

Plus... if you set max brightness, it also munch baytery life

Well... firstly traditionally gaming laptops are never meant to have long battery life. They are engineered for speed and power.

thin&light laptops are designed and engineered differently for power efficiency and battery endurance.

So far Lenovo Legion 5 and Lenovo Ideapad gaming are the only two laptops in the market right now which can claim to be “Thin & light” gaming laptops.

Like i mentioned video conferencing is rather taxing on a laptop, any laptop actually. my thinkpad T495s can only last a max of 1.5hrs of Zoom (max brightness)
In fact it just happened yesterday. I unplugged my t495s (100% battery) go to another quieter room to do my zoom call. I totally forgotten to close other active apps running in thr background and my screen was at max brightness. Around 1.5hrs into the zoom meeting, a low batt warning popped up ar 10%. I had to rush to get my charger

But If i dont do video conferencing with my Thinkpad T495s, and just use it for emails, word processing etc, and set max brightness... nowadays it can last like 7hours.
Instead of 9hrs 1 year ago.

As for the Legion 5 AMD laptop, office use emails, word processing can give around 8hours for the 80whr version, on Quiet mode. mine is the 60whr version and it is able to last me a good 6hrs

But when it comes to video conferencing, the battery will take a big hit

i may wanna suggest to switch to Quiet mode if you are using your Legion 5 laptop for work emails and video conferencing, so that the system will keep it at low power consumption

ur hybrid mode is probably off and the discrete gpu is doing all the work to drive the display. turn on hybrid in vantage to use igpu

Just a DP: ordered T14s AMD Built Your Own on 27Nov and received it today 19Dec, so ~3weeks instead of 6-8weeks. Setting it up now and installing Office and gosh, it is indeed hot! Hmm, hopefully its a right choice after all. Was in that T14 vs T14s dilemma for a while but decided to give it the S a shot. Fingers crossed
