While all of this is done in good faith

no matter how much Singapore burns, the bulk of carbon emissions comes from USA, China, India and all the much bigger nations.

Even if Singapore suddenly magic carbon footprint is ZERO, it will mean nothing to the world and the grand scheme of things because we are that insignificant relative to the other emitters in the world

https://www.ucsusa.org/resources/each-countrys-share-co2-emissions

China 28%
USA 15%
India 7%

as of February 2021.

Singapore is not even on the list

It affects the people living here and the immediate environment. Singapore is the country that is heating up among fastest in the world.

Don't miss the forest for the trees. Every bit matters.

Business to operate in certain areas must 'apply special license', pay for $20-stickers to label intentions (like phv) etc etc etc

Its uncanny how they have all these schemes lined up to be revealed whenever they plan to do something which will create protest. Like bulldozing the Dover forest.

In fact, seems like they are offering this to appease its destruction. Looks like its fate is locked and the review just more wayang.

If they cannot stamp their foot about saving Dover Forest, stop kidding us with any climate change BS.
It is just another scam to incur more tax and charges for sinkie using the excuse of climate change.
Hope all of them burn in some dark places.

Except for a few useful comments, majority of comments here simply shows a COMPLETE lack of understanding what climate change is.

Don't talk rubbish

Tons of rain, temperature drop and haze from Indonesia, all cannot handle.

Even return trays in hawker centres also fail.

What Green Plan?

Is the haze from Indonesia better nowadays? And in case u r unaware, haze from Indonesia is due to farmers deliberately burning of forests and peatlands (climate change only made the burning worse). And heavy rainfall, ever heard of monsoon? It's heavier this year partly due to La Nina.

Returning trays to shelves is a matter of the individual... Those who don't return probably behave the same at home, waiting for maid or parents to clean up their mess after meals.

You are absolutely right. All the small countries need not bother and just wait for the big nations to do something.
Then one can also argue that banning second hand smoke at home is stupid when the buses and cars are emitting more smoke.

Ever heard of a million drops of water can form a mighty ocean?

You mean to say the government is setting up the Green Plan so as to justify cutting down Dover forest?

But when sinkies buy cars, condos and buy iPhones, their face not green. Those no money to buy will be green with envy though.
