Sian, I see this thread I scared. So I panic buy went to renew my Geneco at $0.208 for 2 years fixed. My old price was $0.169…. Almost 20% increase. :(

My plan expiring in Nov, but geneco allow renewing now to lock in price, but the new 2 year plan only starting in Nov.

consolation is that SPWS Aug's spike average billing of 0.25/kwh is still near regulated SP quarterly tariff rate.
the real bomb will be when the spike is similar to what happened overseas where a shocker bill arrives

august 1st week very high, look at the y-axis scale !!!, carried over from the last week of july, which was also very high.
august 4th week, went back to the low 10s.
can roughly see the USEP average for august.

last i checked there are still some OEM offering fixed $0.21/kwh on 24-36mths. After factoring bill rebates of $50-80 + referral $20, average out around 0.19-0.20/kwh

oem make money from the difference between wholesale price and their prices, so wholesale has to be cheaper.

Is it true that spws will always be cheaper than OEM coz OEM buy from spws then charge us higher?
