this month i had a telco refund from the previous month (sep) which only earned 0.3% as did not hit the min spend. this month i have spent at telco and planning to hit the $800 min spend.

for this MB F&F card, anyone has experienced on above scenario? how much is the min spend, (a) $800 or (b) $800+refunded amount?

U can look out at ur Maybank tracker to track ur spending and cash back. If ur subsequent spending dun increase after receiving the refund, it means u need to spend more than the refund for that month.

Oh that's interesting seems like you had a refund experience?

Unfortunately I don't intend to use the tracker and select the categories for the card as my usage is the default categories. i'm alr conditioned over the years to know how to track my spendings so while tracker is a good addition lately, i have my own reasons not to use it.

don't want to be locked in (Cannot amend) the categories for the next 12 months. Only when my spending changes to those other categories outside the default (not in the coming future) then I would select the categories.

Thanks for heads up if that's really a way to figure the spending required for months with refund

My own experience is that the tracker is an excellent way for u to know -
1) If you have hit the minimum $800 a month without guessing

2) What is spent in each category so you can switch to a different card if required (eg if Supermarket has hit maximum bonus amount)

3) Might discover certain category qualifies under areas such as entertainment etc

If only other banks have such system. Only drawback is that Maybank seem to only reflect charges quite a number of days later compared to other banks. Might affect minimum balance if you charge too near to month-end and bill reflect late.

Hiya, I kenna one time with this refund thing, fell short of a few dollars and I requested for a waiver
In the end they still credited the bonus cashback to my account, but it is only a one-off thing on goodwill

Oh ya. One thing that I dun like about this Maybank card is that a spent takes a few days to reflect not only the tracker, but also the card transactions page.

there's a trick to see your pending txns. use the TREATS app and go to "Pay with Points". You will see a list of all the Maybank cards txns but you don't have to redeem any points, even tells u the date and time (exact to secs) for it.

New upsized 8% cashback for Nov and Dec 2021.
Enjoy upsized 8% cashback of up to S$150 per month (usual: S$125), capped at S$30 per category when you spend a minimum of S$800 in a calendar month. You can now earn more cashback as you spend on your preferred 8% cashback categories!

Note: The additional cashback of up to S$25 per calendar month (up to S$5 per category) will not be reflected under ‘BENEFIT OPTIMIZER’ page in Maybank TREATS SG app, and will be credited to the card account by the next card statement.

That means the cap for Nov and Dec will be raised to $375 from the current $312.5

Stupid rule for rebate category that 1 year then can change.

At least per quarter change once.

Hi guys

Just a reminder, purchase @ Popular Online bookstore is not being counted under the retail&pet category, I have made the appeal through the CSO... I thought it should all be counted because Maybank themselves put their advertisement on the popular bookstore website...

I didn't realise Shake Shack wasn't counted under the restaurant category - only noticed that my cashback for Nov spending was lower than expected and that was the only 'new' spending (all other spending was tried and tested to be eligible for cashback in previous months). Is it considered under 'Fast Food' ?

someone would need to verify for you but usually Maybank are very accurate in their rebate calculation based on MCC
