Agreed, the heritage that gives the watch brand value is thrown out the window the moment it gets absorbed into a conglomerate. They can desecrate the brand however they like, even give omega happy meals as long as it makes money

Yes, no choice, shareholders. Profit over branding... they probably calculated and felt that getting the lower to middle income group to buy more Swatch watches is far better than current profits deriving from sales of Omega watches.

actually I feel like buying one for the fun of it. not so much as can't afford the real thing.
it is a fun week end or go supermarket watch..
have Rolex PP or AP doesnt mean u want to wear them everyday. many still wear g shocks most of the days due to work or lifestyle or simply they don't want to wear something they need to take care of everyday.
so not really buy moonswatch becos can't afford real thing lah....

Some just like the design and dont wish to spend money on a watch ...

Like i can afford, but i wont buy a watch above $1k, i do not know how to appreciate it.
So if someone comes out with a watch that is a partnership with the $1k watch, i find it ok to buy , so buy loh.

Most expensive watch I buy is $200 Orient mechanical watch. But i also seldom wear it .. if ever... coz i dont really have habit of wearing watches.. but i like the design
