I'm not surprised, given the number of wealthy families and millionaires here and those who bought insurance to cover private hospitals, going to private is a no brainer decision.
Insurance doesn’t cover outpatient, and may not cover many things. Private is still going to cost a bomb to many with insurance, though they might wrongly think otherwise. Rich then no problem, but they’ll be upset that beds are full.

What happen to our Leeders' "plannings"?

Infrastructure are breaking down, started with the MRT, now healthcare, more cuming?

They will come out with more "plans" like return tray at food court, pay for plastic bags, table cleaning robot at hawker centres etc.

Then very soon, it will be time for next musical chairs in the cabinet and then everyone just forgets about it.

A lot of people are talking about masking and even the VDS.
The fact is that we have explosions of cases followed by crunches in hospital beds whenever we open up further. Happened last Sep. This Feb. And this current mess is right after F1.
I would think that OYK would be better prepared now. But no. And we get the usual tcss, everything ok then boomz.
I remember he got a slap on his face when the nurses union came out and say that nurses are not ok, days after OYK said they are ok...
You allowed 300K foreigners to come and roam about Singapore and dine in and party, and you have to have prepared for it. Our quality of life cannot be worse off because of whatever you chose to do.
We also have to know that resident foreigners and new citizens have returned. Many of them would go to the hospitals in the first instance. In their motherlands, clinic doctors either don't exist or are less qualified or less regulated.
OYK is Health minister.
His KPIs are the Health of the citizens, our Healthcare workers, and our Healthcare facilities.
I think he has failed.

We need a BTO to build more hospitals?
Is there anymore hospitals to be built?
I hope MOH will not "lose" billions of dollars by building more hospitals

Send straight to crematoriam better. Park the bed outside, wait for last breath then incinerate. Less than 50hours...

I thought someone said our hospitals are not overwhelmed when they laughed at HK at its worst outbreak.

These are signs that our public hospitals are overwhelmed. The existing capacity is clearly not enough to cope with “living with covid”. If this is not called overwhelmed, then what is this. Seems like SG has once again underprepared for “living with covid”.

No more VDS or restrictions nonsense. Move on. Mask up if you want to and do your own risk analysis.

People are sick and tired after 3 years. Time to resume living.

Agree. They are defiantly ignoring the critical issues.

I had a recent Cholecystectomy done at NUH, but was left in recovery on a trolley overnight at the Emergency Dept because there was no available bed in the ward. Needless to say, I couldn't get any rest with the bright lights and all the noise from other patients as well as doctors and nurses going about their duties. As my insurance covers private hospitalisation, I have decided to have future admissions at a private hospital.
