Any reason why you chose the fern over leap?
most likely is $ haha
hahah its true. Main factor is Price. Fern is alot cheaper for me. bought it at $759.
I also bought fern based on the overwhelming good review it had.

After reading reddit/ youtube reviews and forums. There are a huge number people who prefer fern/ Leap over herman miller; they owned all 3. Their review in summary was; HM is a very very good office chair that allows them to sit and work (not relax) for many hours, and they prefer it for their office/ study room. The seat edge design is one of the huge drawbacks for many causing them to return as they cut into their legs. Of course, given our climate, Full Mesh is alot less heat.

Based on review, Leap's edge over fern is the waterfall seating, so at the lower thigh part it is more flexible. Hence more comfortable. Leap seat cushion is also better off the shelf. Fern needs to have burn in for it to be comfortable. If i didnt rmb correctly, the back flex for fern is more flexi, which is a plus point for fern. Fern is wider and can cater to a wider audience compared to the narrow seated leap (yea some sat cross legged on the chair for fern).

Above review are what I summarize after skimping thru a handful reviews

hahaha.. i'm in a dillemia here as I can get the leapv2 about $230 more than the fern only.
You must try the chairs out in person to know. Online reviews only give a rough idea. Steelcase showroom has all their models available for testing, easy to set up appointment. Xtra (Herman Miller) doesn't need any appointment. Haworth (Zody, Fern) also doesn't need appointment.

There's no perfect chair.

I sat on this HM Aeron for a couple of months, but think it still has a lot of improvements that can be made. I mainly use the upright position, but it still goes back a little.

I don't think there is a better chair for sitting upright, is there?

if you mean there is a slight gap when you lean back during upright position, just turn the knob tighter

received my sihoo m57 today, enjoying it. However needa get use to the mesh (rather rough vs cushion)

by the way for ergonomic headrest, do u guys adjust it to fit on neck or head? finding it more comfortable to fit the curve on neck
Neck...

Hi, i looking for a chair, i shifting to my new place and i thinking should i buy HM Aeron chair. Saw a few folk here who have their back mesh snapped.

My experience with HM Aeron is when i was with my previous company back in 2012, i sat their first batch of HM Aeron chairs and they are just so comfortable.

I have had Benel Aeria series for 2 years before i sold it when i just move out of my prevoius flat. they are good but the build quality cannot match.

No sure should i but HM Aeron or maybe look for another cheaper options like hinomi chair.

Anyone got steelcase Leap v2? based on some of the comment its more comfy than Aeron. Anyone having issue with the cushion being hot?
I have both chairs.. The aeron is way way better.. In term of support and build quality
.. Leap 2 cushion might feel comfortable but the support is not as good as aeron and I can feel aching when I sit too long on leap vs aeron. 2ndly the heat is unbearable.. U need to use in air con room. And yes if u like to crossleg dun get aeron.. Aeron is force u to seat in a correct posture.. Aeron is better if u like to rock yr chair too..

The leap can adjust seat pan depth while aeron can't.

i got my fern, 4 days in. I feel sore after certain sitting. Reading everywhere that there are adjustment period (7-14 days). I love all the adjustability. If the sore persists, i might return before the 14 days period :(

Yup, I tried it at my friend's house, definitely can do without the head rest.
I find the headrest great only when in reclined mode. In forward tilt, it's obstructive.

Also, I prefer Classic > RM simply due to the rocking mechanism

Which part is sore? Make sure you watch the Haworth video on how to set up the chair properly. Height and seat depth adjustment is very important to get precise. Also, work desk height and monitor height also matters. You sit with the backside tucked all the way back ya?
