I belioeve probably this weekend will be the worst, and the rest of the month will expectedly be bad enough too.
I think unless willing to enter around 7am and leave right after lunch, I'd stay away until after Raya. Imagine all travelling earlier to break fast with their families or colleagues, the crowd will definitely be there.

Going over for me would just be on a need-to basis. Any errand that could cause me to be able to leave only after mid-afternoon will definitely not be considered.

To me, Ramadan is a good time to travel to Malaysia. It is probably advisable to avoid the crossing during sunset. Muslim eating places tend to be crowded at sunset. Attractions are a lot less crowded. I make it a point to visit Ramadan markets in Malaysia.

funny how malaysia makes their next door neighbour jump through so many hoops just to use their egate...

i exited Dubai and Tel Aviv both on e-gates without any paper work done on my end...

Both entry into DXB and TLV was manual, in Dubai, the manual counter had face cameras.

and now i also have an "incomplete" stamp record on my passport. DXB i entered with stamp and exited on e-Gate. TLV never stamp passport.

i'm guessing as more and more countries adopt e-Gates, "incomplete" passport stamp record will become more and more common.

If you are referring to enrolment, No.

Still waiting for someone to try using the eGate at the train checkpoints.

The time needed to clear immigresen at the train checkpoint is not unbearable. After all, there are only so many passengers per train. I can live without e-gates there.

If you go JB often, e-gates help to save the number of pages in your passport.

everywhere is transitioning to e-Gate and the new passports is back to 10 years validity, it will be getting harder and harder to collect passport stamps liao
