Share this video on "carry the Buddha'. I tried to carry the Buddha today, no joke, l barely could carry the Buddha up. It was said if you make a wish and you manage to carry the Buddha, meaning your wish will come true. If unable to carry the Buddha up, meaning your wish will not come true. I did not wish for anything, just tried to carry the Buddha, almost couldn't make it ha ha ha.... but managed to carry the Buddha with great effort. However, I did not manage to carry the Buddha up to my forehead. Go and try for yourself if there is an opportunity.



Where is this place?

缘分is one thing but the technique of lifting the statue up also play a part.

Some years ago, I was in bkk and saw a statue that I quite like. It was on a personal altar in a shop. The boss said temple already no more making.

Long story short. The boss said that she is willing to let go the statue to me if I can lift it up.

The serial number on the statue is same as her shop unit number and coincidentally same as my unit number.

Being a slave to the Buddha, Dhamma, and Saṅgha is called being a slave to a noble family, the kind of people we can willingly be slaves to. But being a slave to our moods—cravings and defilements—is like being a slave to bandits and thieves. What sort of valuables are they going to have to give us? But even though it’s proper to be a slave to the Buddha, Dhamma, and Saṅgha, it’s still no match for not having to be a slave to anyone, for the word “slave” means that we’re not yet free. So the Buddha teaches us to learn how to depend on ourselves—attāhi attano nātho, the self is its own mainstay. That’s when we’ll be able to rise up free, released from our slavery, with no need to have anyone order us around ever again.

生命是個不斷學習的過程、要能坦然面對自己的不足、時常反觀自身、改掉不好的習性毛病、這也是改變命運的開始。
人要培養心靈的善念、莊嚴自己的心宅、人生最有價值的心、是一顆感恩的心、演好自己的角色、讓人生的戲是喜劇圓滿收場。

[This happens after the nirvana of Buddha. 迦叶 rebukes 阿难 as 童子]

杂阿含经卷第四十一

尊者迦叶语阿难言:“汝知此义,如何于饥馑时,与众多年少弟子南山国土游行,令三十人舍戒还俗,徒众损减,余者多是童子?如阿难,汝徒众消减,汝是童子,不知筹量。”
  
阿难答言:“云何,尊者摩诃迦叶,我已头发二色,犹言童子?”
  
尊者摩诃迦叶言:“汝于饥馑世,与诸年少弟子人间游行,致令三十弟子舍戒还俗,其余在者复是童子。徒众消减,不知筹量,而言宿士众坏,阿难,众极坏,阿难,汝是童子,不筹量故。”

don't understand this.
so Ananda's disciples return to secular due to famine. then the remaining are young novice? so Maha Kasyapa say Ananda is an inexperienced person who don't know how to plan?

The beginning part of the sutra offers the reasons.

1. Those young monks are slack in their cultivation, they do not have self-discipline when come to food consumption and sleep;
2. Ananda brings them along to travel to other part of India;
3. That is during the famine year when it is collecting alms is tough.

It is much better for the young monks who are not diligent in their cultivation to stay put with other members of the Sangha. Once out of sight of the group, the young monks do not have the senior monks to guard/control/extol them except Ananda.

That is why Maha Kasyapa says Ananda is like a kid who lacks judgement.

   惠施伏悭贪,真言坏妄语。
   不骂亦不虐,常住贤圣心,
   恶人住瞋恨,不动如石山。
   起瞋恚能持,胜制狂马车,
   我说善御士,非彼摄绳者。”

时,年少阿修罗白佛言:“瞿昙,我今悔过,如愚如痴,不辩不善,于瞿昙面前诃骂毁辱。”
  
如是忏悔已,时,阿修罗闻佛所说,欢喜随喜,作礼而去

 斷淫--煉精化氣
要戒淫,好比大禹治水,不是單純的“水來土掩”,勉强壓抑,而是必須疏導。
百日築基,打開丹田,讓精氣導入丹田,運行于三脈七輪。


如此精氣不沖動,加上心中覺念常在。欲念欲生則覺,覺即空。
時常是保持內心的清淨,不讓欲念生起。而不是等生起後再降服。重在預防。欲念欲起則覺察,則降服。

為何要右側臥?
右側臥時,雙腳彎曲,好比靜坐,丹田部位形成渦流,氣息積蓄于此。晏然靜守,丹田熱氣氤氳。
這個姿勢,是養氣守神的好方法。丹田開竅後,修行人睡覺時都用此姿勢。可以靜守丹田,煉精化氣。

無論是道家,氣功師,佛家都有一個共同點,就是禁欲。道家練氣士有個說法叫“百日築基”。就是要禁欲百日。
一般凡人,休息幾日,精氣就開始增多,精氣足了,就找出路,就容易沖動,是為欲火焚身。
而凡人的出路就是下根勃起,需要發泄,發泄之後就漏出了。
漏出就虛弱幾日,然後再休息幾日,再增多,然後再發泄。如此循環不已。永遠是凡夫。

而氣功師,道人和僧人,則反其道而行之,禁欲幾日後,精氣增多,下根勃起堅挺。
這個時候,內心平靜,沒有淫欲,或打坐,或右側臥,安心靜守。下根到小腹就越來越充實,陽根堅硬如鐵,持久不倒,
小腹鼓脹,這個就是“無欲則剛”。繼續積累,這些精氣沒地方去,就會自然的沖開會陰穴,
沖開小腹的經脈。繼續積蓄,然後忽然的丹田開竅,丹田就打開了,
精氣就突然的流入丹田,小腹鼓脹感就消失,陽根也松軟。此後,只要靜守,丹田就發熱。
如此不斷繼續,丹田的能量就越來越多,是為“煉精化氣”。
而沒有這一步,丹田是沒有打開的,精氣是無處儲蓄的。
所以這步叫作“玄關開竅”。之後精氣自然被升華,而運行于三脈七輪,身心清淨安寧,氣息充沛。

所以,一心不亂的前提是:無淫欲,無睡欲。必須先有戒定功夫
斷了淫根,斷了睡眠,食欲輕,
可以一日到七日不食。如此可以日夜禪定,一日夜,二日二夜,乃至七日七夜念佛不間斷。
而唯有如此戒定功夫,精氣充沛。持經持咒念佛等,氣息才會源源不斷,才可能做到一日一夜不間斷。
否則凡夫的身體是做不到的。而能夠一日一夜到七日七夜“不間斷”了,
才可以契入念佛三昧,“不思慮”。也就是,“因定生慧”。慧,
就是“無思慮,無疑慮”的清淨心。斷思絕慮,疑情不起,清淨本心。

其實口業的罪過是很嚴重的,所以我們平時說話一定要很謹慎,不可以想到什麼就講什麼。而且我們應該只講對眾生有益的話,無益的話就不要多說,這樣才不會犯下一堆口業啊!
