It was a tactical masterclass. Klopp wanted to play this way after we went 1 man down, that's how we never lose when we go down to 10 men.
I would rather we stick to playing well and executing a game plan well and reacting well when we have 11v11
This was a very no choice reactive gamble
Nobody knew for sure this was gonna work. It wouldn’t work if Alisson wasn’t on god mode or nunez in clinical mode.
Simply put this win serves as an example of what I mentioned before. Individual brilliance carried us through again . Yes the tactical switch worked but we cannot discount Newcastle’s inept finishing helps. It’s easy to say if we don’t have Alisson making great saves and Nunez being ultra clinical which most of us here would never believe he would be (come on let’s be honest) we wouldn’t have managed to smash and grab.
good tactical switch but it’s not foolproof too.
Almiron still run through easily and should have really scored at least one of his 2 shots.
it all comes down to details. And sometimes individual brilliance and luck as we can see. (Jota pass comes off the bum of the Newcastle defender for example) But true we made our own luck mostly but it’s a combination of factors not jus because of the tactical switch we we gambled on after going down to 10men
so can we say if vvd stays on we wouldn’t have switched and we might lose another goal or two. It was looking that way anyway.
many way we escaped and stole all the points. Surely We can’t be counting on doing this for the next 35 games.
