Case to case basis but briefly what i understand is, say i have 75k in there..... Base Int will be 2.5% ( average of 1.5 + 2.5 + 3.5 ).
So Bonus Int will be 1% as they already paid 2.5% base int.

Something like that but differ depending on exact amt slab, date deposited and not originating from within cimb fd.

I am existing customer but my account got many txfr in/ txfr out on different days very hard to calculate. So I use the base interest as the reference point. Since base interest is 1.5%, then in theory the bonus 2% must be higher than the base unless some amount does not qualify becuz I just check in July 2023 I do have some balance which I transfer out on 20 July which is not on last day 31 July 2023.

Hmmm... my amount not huge so I will just move on to other banks don't wanna waste time argue with them.

Edit: I think I know why already. This mean your base interest may not be just 1.50% depending on amount it maybe more than that I see. Then I think the bonus interest make some sense. But count to actual amount really no time to scrutinize. I am now busy investing in SG stocks/ETF
FastSaver Prevailing Interest
First $25k: 1.50% p.a.
Next $25k: 2.50% p.a.

My bonus interest is in as well, slightly higher than my base interest.
If you all are using FastSaver, the base interest may not be flat 1.5% Please look my earlier table first 25K is 1.5%, Next 25K is 2.5%. This mean base interest flat 1.5% only for those with < 25K. This make sense?

E.g
First 25K , base 1.5 , bonus 2.0
Second 25K , base 2.5 bonus 1.0

The 31 Aug 2023 base interest is not flat 1.5% if your amount > 25K. Correct?

Bonus lower than base is perfectly normal if your daily amount is mostly around 25k to 75k.

25k-50k: Base 1.5-2%, bonus 1.5-2%
50k-75k: Base 2-2.5%, bonus 1-1.5%

I think the simplest way to calculate is to just do a flat 3.5% int and compare against the sum of your base and bonus int. If the same then the bank calculate correctly

25k-50k: Base 1.5-2%, bonus 1.5-2%
50k-75k: Base 2-2.5%, bonus 1-1.5%
Above is for FastSaver.

Starsaver slightly different amount for tier
First $100k: 1.50% p.a, bonus 2.0%
Next $150k: 2.50% p.a, bonus 1.0%

So thinking back FastSaver better than StarSaver becuz when take base interest you take more than 1.5% although in the end both same. But FastSaver take more monies earlier at base interest stage.

E.g FastSaver > 25K I get 2.5% liao but StarSaver > 100K then get the 2.5% at the base interest stage. But final all is same

ya, honestly i had that consideration too. Maribark 2.88% (accrued daily) is more certain and you can see the interest daily for yourself rather than get shock by cimb miscalculations or funny criterias

especially if we withdraw / deposit often than seeing daily interest will give more clarity

Actually no shock now. Highlighted in my earlier post. Base interest for FastSaver may not be strictly 1.5% becuz if cross 25K you go into another tier you get 2.5% already.

Same. I also received it but much less than what I expected. Anyone knows any restriction or disclaimer in bonus interest? Thanks.
