Actually war crimes are the deliberate attack of civilians with the objective of causing harm to them.

Israel from day one mentioned they don't actively target civilians, Hamas on the other hand, not only do they want to destroy Israel and it's civilian population, they have recent videos showing them killing, and kidnapping civilians which is a war crime.

Israel is collateral damage from their air strikes. But Hamas is smart to use the Gaza civilians as human shields to drag the Israel army into a bloody conflict.
