Thanks. Heard many bad review taking Abt poor reception and data speed on M1 Maxx Base plan.

Well shall stick back to this M1 Plan instead. Though paying slightly more with less benefits. But I guess is more reliable.

Hmm... (*I'm holding the Online Recurring $14 Plan),

I just finished chating with 1963 on how do I buy the $12 Plan in the "Buy" tab while I'm on Recurring $14 Plan.

The CSO told me this:

"You don't have to cancel the Recurring $14 Plan. You just need to buy the $12 Plan in the "Buy" Tab now. When your next Recurring $14 Plan is subject to renew next month. The $12 Plan from the "Buy" Tab will replace the Recurring $14 Plan from then onwards!"

Makes sense?  I just wanna save the $2 so that I can eat one more McChiken burger per month! :) Time is tough!

interesting..!

if you buy the $12 now, would you be charged now or after the $14 plan finishes? (auto renew on)

will both plans overlap (if auto renew is off...) or will it wait till the $14 plan finishes and then switch over to $12 and turns off auto renew as well??

havent discovered everything....😂
Oh! I asked the same question and I got a reply likes that: 😬 🤦‍♂️

"Open your brain cell BIG BIG! How to run 2 Plans on 1 mobile number...! You stupid or what...? " 🤭

So, the answer is you buy any new Plan now before your next Renewal date and it will replace the current Plan with the new Plan on the next Renewal date regardless if you have cancelled the Recurring for the current active Plan or not! :)

I did not post "that" in my previous post so that I would not have to say "that" to whoever ask me! LOL! 😬 🤭

OK, let's look at the monthly messages from them:

M1: Your new Maxx Plan entitlement starts today and will be valid for 30 days! Enjoy! You can check your usage anytime via M1 Maxx app.

Then next day:

M1: Your monthly base plan is active. Continue to enjoy Base Plan @ $0 as long as you use Maxx. Use Maxx App to manage your account 65xxxxxxxx!

So to say, so long as we've another plan bought before the present one expires:

1) The "entitlement" which I presume coz we'd to sign up online to get it, will not be reactivated.

2) The (say) $12 plan already bought before, will kick in.

Yes! That was what the CSO told me as he said it's technically impossible for 2 Maxx Plans running on 1 mobile line concurrently.

Unless the CSO cocked up...

So, to be safe. I will buy the new $12 Plan 2 days before the next Renewal Date since I do not intent to cancel the Recurring. :)

You mean you do not intend to cancel the recurring for the $12 plan? As in you didn't manage to get the CSO to cancel the recurring for the $14 one coz he said no need?

Yes! He said no need when I wanted to cancel the Recurring for my current $14 before buying the $12 Plan for next Renewal cycle.

I don't intent to if that is the case.

How about calling up again to see if another CSO say the same thing.

Btw did the CSO literally say "open your brain...." ? Friends talk like that but so crude coming from customer hotline. 😂

My thoughts based on Malaysia prepaid cards I've used... The data package might start after the existing one expires. But what about the validity since it's a 30-day one?

Worth some thinking?

Good point! I never thought of that and so I did not ask.

Anyway, since I will only buy the $12 Plan 2 days before the Renewal date. Therefore, I don't lose much in term of day if the validity of the Base Plan gets reset 2 days earlier.

For M1 Maxx mobile plans, there are 2 types:

(1) DOES NOT auto renew (non-recurring).
(2) Will auto renew (recurring).

When M1 Maxx first started, there was only type (1) non-recurring mobile plans;
- Type (2) auto renew (recurring) mobile plans for M1 Maxx -- was only added later.

For type (1) non-recurring mobile plans, the list can be found at this link:
https://maxx.sg/add-on

The above list of type (1) M1 Maxx non-recurring mobile plans is not fixed/permanent.
(i.e. the quota/price for each mobile plan can be updated/changed from time-to-time & new mobile plans can also be added.)

When M1 Maxx first started, type (1) non-recurring mobile plans were only available at retailers (shops).

But later you can also buy type (1) M1 Maxx mobile plans from online platforms like Shopee.sg (often at discounted prices).

***
(If I'm not wrong) My understanding is as follows:

If you're currently having on a type (2) auto renew (recurring) M1 Maxx plan -- and you make a plan change without stopping/terminating auto renew, the new plan will (logically) replace the current plan -- because M1 Maxx system may not support/allow you to subscribe to more than 1 recurring/auto renew mobile plan running concurrently.

But this restriction of having only 1 x type (2) auto renew (recurring) mobile plan at any point in time -- DOES NOT SEEMS to apply to type (1) non-recurring M1 Maxx mobile plans.

Last year (2022), I bought a second type (1) M1 Maxx plan on Shopee.sg -- BEFORE my current type (1) M1 Maxx plan expire.

(The reason why I do so -- is because quota on my current M1 Maxx plan was running low + I wanted to test out buying M1 Maxx plan at discounted prices on Shopee.sg)

After buying the second type (1) M1 Maxx mobile plan, both current & newly bought mobile plans are shown in the M1 Maxx app -- with overlapping validity periods;
- so during the overlapping period -- both type (1) M1 Maxx mobile plans are active.

Unless things have changed, but based on the above,
- it may also be possible to add-on/buy another type (1) non-recurring mobile plan -- while concurrently having a type (2) recurring/auto renew M1 Maxx mobile plan.

I can't confirm this as I don't intend to use any recurring/auto renew mobile plan on my M1 Maxx line -- but I did have 2 x type (1) non-recurring M1 Maxx mobile plans running with overlapping validity once in 2022 (as stated above).

This is the reason why many people have stated that M1 Maxx is a hybrid postpaid/prepaid combo serivce -- although M1 Maxx itself is classified as postpaid.

Ya! From all the info presented so far! I'm not sure what the CSO told me was correct!

So, the safest way to ensure I don't get double charged for current Recurring $14 Plan and the intended $12 Plan with seperate Base Plans validities is to cancel my current Recurring $14! :poop:🥴

I can't remember where I saw the $12 plan, but my "change plan" options have only 3 and none are $12.

Can see it here though - https://www.m1.com.sg/mobile/maxx - So is this a so-called "retailers plan", that is can only be bought from the retailers?

If that is so, as in it's not a change of plan directly from the app, then I'd think the recurring has to be cancelled.

My friend tried calling and said at some stage when the auto-voice couldn't understand him :s13: he's thrown to a Press 1 for blah, Press 2 for blah blah, and there's an option for cancelling of recurring. He didn't proceed coz he's just testing water. :s22:

I think you should try calling them again, either get them to cancel or see if you can get yourself thrown to that press 1 press 2 thingy. Maybe press already might also throw you to a CSO. :s13:

In your Maxx App. Go to the tab "Buy" which is next to "Home". You should see the $12/120GB and $15/150GB options"! :)

I guess I have no choice to waste another 20 to 30 mins of my Outgoing call entitlement then, to cancel my current Recurring $14 to be extra safe before buying the $12/120GB Plan. 🤭

Ah, so it's under "Buy" and not "Change Plan". I suddenly feel so goondu :s34: think need to play around with the app more :s13:

Ya, better call them again. At least they're easier to catch then the likes of those "main" telcos.
