Maybe you are giving them too much credit.

1 thing I know about Xiaomi is that they got at least put in some effort to design and build their own phones.

The only thing PRISM+ ever design themselves is perhaps their brand logo?

Even then we won't know if they outsourced the design to an external party for it...

Well, you never know for Prism-branded products.

Like what many sales people in the electrical stores say, buy home appliances is really kuah heng suay one. But some brands/models really more suay than others.

Buy Made in Japan is still the way to go, the LESS functions the home appliance has, the LESS points of failure. Those ice maker, cold water dispenser, soooo many electrical boards, 1 spoil = whole fridge bye bye .

Even Made in Japan also need to check, must be motor MIJ.
Samsung/LG Made in Korea got issues too.

My home fridge is a MIJ Hitachi, even though the brand itself was sold to a Turk consortium which owns Beko also in overseas market.

the premium is for the local warranty. buy taobao, once spoil...gg. get a technician, can diagnose the problem, maybe cant even find parts.

but no, i wont buy prism fridge either. stick to japanese brands safer.
