according to edmw, the motorbike should practise defensive driving and give way as well, if not the white merc might crash thru a junction and cause more deaths lol...

Guys, did u see the video where 2 days before the accident, on 20th Apr the white merc driver tried to force a cam bike off the road?

It does seem indeed that the white merc driver is no good driving angel.

Hi, I am the driver of SNH7Z. I would like to clear up some misunderstandings.

How did the biker have agenda to purposely paint him in a bad light for the Tampines accident by uploading a video 2 days prior? Or was the video uploaded after the accident?

Oh well, a tragic accident have happened and life still go on. Let the Law do their job and let those who cause it to accept their punishment.
Was at Ground Zero and it seem the cleaner have do a good job clearing all the debris from the road. That junction just happen to be near Tampines West DTL happen to be near to my place and after coming home from work, just need to see for myself and see ground zero.
I could only see many small window glasses bits on the side pavement of the traffic light and some stalks of flower lay on the traffic light for the 2 decreased.

Stop and pray 🙏 for the decease victim to RIP.

I don’t know why is it the white Mercedes issue at all. Whether he speed up or not. He is on his own lane. Whether he is playing with the Saab or not, he is still on his own lane.

The Saab wanted to overtake. But with a bike blocking him, then he should have slowed down or overtake the white Mercedes only when it is safe to do so.

The Mercedes have no obligation to slow down for him or to let him pass.

it is very obvious that the Saab driver takes full responsibility for his irresponsible driving.
From this thread, you could already tell how many isn’t a driver or don’t drive daily.

its so dumb of ppl to keep commenting the merc drive push saab over the edge until he have to speed and crash into other innocent parties.

from the way the saab is driving this idiot would have speed and crash even without the existence of the merc.
the merc just happen to be an asshole also and was there atp. it wouldnt have change anything

Nowadays those big cross junction catered for disabled, no more concrete bollard post, pedestrian waiting for traffic quite dangerous
Not dangerous, just don't glue one's eyes to the phone.
Such accidents are rare. When time is up, it's up, and it's easier to be up when eyes are glued to the phone.

Even if he did give way to the Saab and chill about it, the Saab at that time was in a state of frenzy (for various reasons) and chose to go on the irrational mode of bashing through the red light.
Yes, the outcome will be different. be it he stop at the junction or still clash thru.. but for sure the merc will wash hand from this case if he choose to drive responsibly .. but he chose to act foolishly as the Saab driver . I hope he see my comment. This will come back some day to hunt him.. esp when one gets old…

I wont dispute that Saab driver is fully responsible for the accident. While the Merc drive is not legally liable, his aggressive driving had indirectly caused the accidents results in loss of 2 lives and multiple injuries.

While we do not know yet why the Saab drive tried to beat the red light, the incident with the Merc had likely affected the Saab driver's judgement.

I hope the government can do something to punish such aggressive behaviours on the road. While these drivers may not had committed any serious traffic offences yet, their behaviours will likely directly or indirectly result in accidebts in the future.

No points trying to raise awareness or educate such drivers. A punitive measure wld be more effective to shape the behaviour of such drivers on te roads. There are so many dash cams on the road so I dont see why TP cant enforce that..

Me - I do that sometimes.

You - In fact, you just admitted to be one of those selfish drivers who often speed up to prevent others from changing lane.

Epic. You read what you want to read, invents and project your imagination as fact.

I said I speed up to close a gap so that vehicles are not tempted to cut in abruptly. Not tempted = not yet done so. But you came up with your narrative and make it seem as if I will speed up if a vehicle forces it's way into my lane.

Defensive mean to discourage or reduce the possibility of something from happening. But if as you described a vehicle had forced itself into my lane, I would as a matter of safety do the necessary to avoid a collision. Did I say that I will defensively accelerate and bump him off the road? Tsk tsk tsk. Don't come up with scenarios that don't reflect what I said.

If people lane change without checking or force their way into your lane, the correct and defensive way is to apply brake, slow down your vehicle and allow the other vehicle to lane change safely.
I did not Invent or project anything here. You just said it yourself, speeding up is a type of defensive maneuver and I merely called you out and cited from the FTT scenarios whereby if you applied your flawed logic, you put yourself and others at risk.

Don't come flip prata to say you will do the necessary.

Closing a gap with either the front or side vehicles to prevent others from lane changing or overtaking is NEVER a defensive move. FACT.

think he meant the biker crop the earlier video to make him look bad in that incident.
