Ya Seoul station is very easy compared to Tokyo station or Shinjuku. Haha

Only one entry to the tracks and maybe 20 platforms.

I bought mine last week on Trip.com app. Cheaper and the e-ticket sent to your email is all you need to board the train (no one checked our tickets though)

Theoretically yes but 90% all space taken up.
A few things to note

(1) try to go down early (don’t last min like me)
(2) also make sure you carry light (possible carry on luggage)

I booked first class train tickets. Seat quite huge and space is big. The space between your table to your seat is super wide until char bo will complain because if you put iPad on the table, you need to move forward and stretch before your hands can reach the iPad.

Also the luggage rack is small so if you got big luggage and you are late (ie, can’t find space on rack), you probably have to just dumped it inside the cabin floor. But I find Koreans are professionals. I seen some Koreans putting their luggage near train door and block the emergency exit. I hiong hiong stacked my luggage on top of theirs. Wife laughed as she say later don’t let them throw your luggage out of the train door. When I reached, I still see my luggage nice nice on the floor. If in China, maybe already gone

Thanks @elvintay07 @Hisashiburi .
How many in advance need to be at the station? Do we need to clear custom like airport ?

did you all also gotten tickets from Trip.com ? Legit ?
I bought directly from the app. I checked out trip.com and the tickets are same price also. In case you kuku like some ppl go down wrong stop, easy to change ticket if you buy from them. Don’t need to clear custom. If you are someone without luggage, u can even reach platform 5 min before train take off. If you got big luggage, I suggest about 20 min before. But u need to see got any train before u. For example

10am train 034 track 6
1020am train 035 track 6.
1055am train 037 track 6

Earliest you can go down is to wait for previous train to leave. For example if u take train 035 then you go down 9:50sm, some kuku will board wrong train.

Also from Seoul to Busan try to take the fastest train. Average 2hr 20min like that. Don’t take the 3hr 30min one. But of course if you book first class then ok la. But 小弟, Elvin suggest u book first class if you don’t mind paying $25 more per ticket. But normal economy also ok. In fact both super comfortable since I fell asleep. My wife likes first class more because quieter.

Bro, remember train take off on time. Don’t late else u game over also. If you stay very near KTX then ok. If you need to take cab, then better to be earlier

also try not to go/ return on Fri + weekends else better book early. I booked my Fri tickets 5 days in advance and couldn’t get first class unless odd timing like 6am, 4pm in evening. Mon to Thur is ok. 👌 I booked Mon 12pm train ticket at 10am, still can get first class. 😂

No customs or security checks(!), just tap ticket on the main gate and go through.

Train leaves right on the dot so be sure to get there at least 60 to 30min before.
There are shops n restaurants nearby so cn browse around.

No need to tap. Just go down board. Some lau hero will try not to pay but I think if get caught ultra jialat. Yes. There are lots of shops around to eat and shop. At Seoul there is Lotte mart also. My Korean friends usually go 5 min before. Usually they go from Seoul back to Busan home town. Almost got nothing. My wife and I reach about 30 min before because we have 2 big luggage

If you carry 2 big luggage, need to assess where you stay. If you are going to take bus, need to manage expectation. They drive like F1 and your luggage may fly off

I guess the above advise will be valid for taking KTX from Busan to Seoul?

I need to buy Seoul to Busan and Busan to Seoul KTX tickets. Seem that there is no option to purchase return tickets, just one way.

Wanted to confirm if that is correct. Also is this worthwhile to upgrade to first class ?
