I am just curious with this frost cleaning function, does that mean you need to call the ac guy less often for regular cleaning. Bcoz I know the blower still can't self-clean. The samsung one seems to have more functions.
From my understanding, it helps clean the fins of the aircon.

Preferably every 6mth still need to service as other components such as blower wheel, jelly in pipe still needs cleaning

You guys can believe the auto self cleaning, is this work? After cleaning, where is the dust going?
For normal usage 3 months only, dust has a lot stick on filters.

When is a good time to buy aircon? Is there a period where there are discount sales going on?

Are you able to time your renovation and ensure periods without Aircon?
If so you can wait for promotions and sales
No idea when they happen but the less popular brands do push their sales sometimes

Maybe you can go during month end whereby the sale person may cut their commission to meet the month end target.

I went HN different outlet to ask the price of the same aircon and got 2 different price ( price difference by apprx 700).

FCU hardly failed.
The outdoor main pcb board failed within 5 years without warranty. The cost around $1k

Daikin was bad images on CCS Tengah 🤣 we called it water bomb

anyone with system 4 roughly monthly how much is yr electric consumption?mine 900 to 1100kwh ..7PM to 6AM.. isit normal ?

Read HWZ Forum Rules!

Seems on the high side to me even if you turn on all 4 at once. It's only 12hours of usage and normally night time the power consumption is lesser due to cooler weather as compared to day usage.

Hi,

I went to Gain City to look for System 2 aircon. The staff ask us whether do we want to take up extended warranty for the additional 4 years. This will cover everything include the electronic parts.

May I know is it worth getting such extended warranty?

I am looking at Mitsubishi Electric Starmex System 2 with 2 x 12K BTU blower and 28K BTU condenser.

Thanks.

Hi All Experts,

I just got my keys to my new 4 Room BTO recently. Would like to consult all the aircon experts/users over here regarding what kind of AC setup should i get.

Based on the floor plan that I have uploaded, those red circles are the walls that I am hacking away. Resulting a bigger living room + working area at BR 3 + open concept kitchen.

I would categorise my wife and I as heavy aircon users. The aircons for living room and Master BR will be heavily used as I would host guests very often, whereas my wife will be in the Master BR.

As such, I am currently looking at 4 Aircons under System 2 + System 2 (Daikin ismile).
Could anyone recommend me what kind of Aircon BTU should i get for all the rooms + living room? Also, the BTU for the 2 outdoor compressors.
Am also open to suggestions for System 3 + 1.

Would this below configuration be ideal for us?
Master BR - 12K (Heavy usage)
BR 2 - 9K (Rarely will use. Only in the future for 1 x Child)
BR 3 - 9K (For working/gaming & to on with Living if the Living AC is not cold enough?)
Living - 24K (Heavy usage)

Would like to apologise in advance if my suggestion is overkill or something, as I do not have any knowledge on ACs. Only went to read up recently.

Thank you~

my view (no beam visibility is a bit hard to understand)

Normally for new BTO, there is a beam above the 2 walls you want to hack away.

I would install a 24K blowing above study. 12K blowing from the wall the hacked wall towards kitchen.

you can’t pair 12K MBR with 24K on 1 CU as only the MKM85VVMG or 3H28VG and above can power it without current limiter. But it would be throttled.

If you use 12K plus 12K 2 at the same time, you need a 3H28VG (Starmex) or MKM75VVMG (Daikin) or 3XU28 (Panasonic). Might as well pair the 9K br2 to this CU which supports 3 FCU and get a system 1.

my preference in this case is system 3+1 with 12/12/9 on 1 CU and single split 24K for study/living

your usage would be

12k MBR plus 24K Study / living area

or

12k MBR plus 12k dining plus 24k study/living

or

12k MBR plus 9k br2 (if with baby)

If you need to use all also can…

Dear Experts,

I need your advice. I plan to install an ME Aircon System 3 in all three bedrooms of my four-room HDB. The plan is to turn on all the air conditioners at night while sleeping.

I have received a quote from a salesperson with two options:

1. MXY-3H28VG + 3 Aircon units (12,9,9)
2. MXY-4H33VG + 3 Aircon units(12,9,9)

Could I seek expert advice on which option? The salesperson recommended option 2 as he mentioned something like the compressor cannot run at full capacity.
Thank you.

The 2nd option is for a System 4 configuration with a stronger compressor, will be able support 3 concurrent units use better than the 1st.

Think of it as a 2.0L car vs a 1.6L car. Just 1 driver or 1 driver and 1 passenger not significant difference. But full load 5 pax BBFA then will see the difference.

If you can use two 12k instead of a single 24k blower that will be good too
But always make sure the compressor is adequately powered and then some

The max throughput for 4H33VG is higher than 3H28VG, thats provided we are talking about using 9/9/12/12 vs 9/9/24

if using only 9/9/12, practically no difference (6.2kW vs 6.5kW normal rating)

System 3 28VG can covered 12,9,18k no point to get system 4
