google cloud will occasionally scan your files and flag/ban you if your drive contains anything they deem suspicious

And knowing how woke the west can be, I wouldn’t be too surprised if people kenna banned and reported to FBI for child pornography because Google found a parent’s photos/videos of their naked 2 year old toddler

ridiculous?

shrink wrap? Is the battery holder on the main board or some tangling piece? :o

This is good. Most itx motherboard also use shrink-wrap cmos battery. Cost only about $1 for china shrink-wrap cmos battery with 2 pins connector. But need to make sure the pins polarity is correct.

rounds of scotape also can haha.

Read HWZ Forum Rules!

Finally the battery shrink wrap arrived.

Previously my date stuck at 2015 everytime the power is cut.

I opened up and found my cmos battery contact loosen again despite I used a red color wire tape and rubber band to press the contact as tight as possible. And it came loose.

I used a plier to clamp the contact pieces to the CR2032 & used the hair drier to blow on it. Viola. I don't need to enter my cmos date and boot up sequence again.

Problem solved with S$1.60.

Nope. The red color is those sticky electrician tape and it came loosen after a while. Those tape also has glue smearing around so not very good for contact.

I'm using the one with ryzen 9 7940S. Amazing power to me. And fan isn't noisy for a minipc. That's important
AMD mini pc have a design bugs, no thanks to AMD themselves for providing the buggy reference design that is then copied by the OEMs who don't bother to do intensive QC.

Unfortunately, this plagues many AMD-based mini PCs. Geekom, Minisforum, Beelink, etc.
There is always some bug somewhere.

It is best to use Intel-based Mini PCs, or better still, just buy a Mac Mini, or assemble your own compact Intel/AMD ITX.

The Intel ultra 125h, ultra 155h mini pc are starting to ship. Have comparable igpu performance as amd in benchmarks but due to poorly optimized driver perform slower in actual games. But still better than previous Intel igpu. Intel still optimizing driver hope one day can unlock full performance in games.

Most importantly is what's the battery life? That's what's most worrying for such tablets
not gonna be good I guess.

I've been using several surface products all have same constraint but price to pay for the portability/form factor

The only one will good batt life is Microsoft surface pro. All the other wannabes from acer to Lenovo all have bad batt.

Understand that the Intel Nuc is discontinued.

Looking for something similar, preferably Intel based for replace my aging Thinkpad running Debian.
Anyone bought similar hardware recently and can recommend?

Intel sold nuc to Asus. Now is Asus nuc with same chassis as intel but asus pricing and software support.
