Will be travelling to Europe. My last DSLR camera was Nikon D90 which I bought in 2008 and is still working well.

I have lent it to a family member and am thinking of getting a new one. It’s quite heavy in any case and I know technology has improved by many moons and stars, so would like to get a new one.

Any photographer hobbyist who’s able to make recommendations? Thinking of getting back Nikon for the familiarity.

If it is too big, maybe u should consider 4/3 camera

You find a DSLR heavy, and some more its a D90 only. Just go mirrorless, buy second hand. Or you can also consider pocketable 1-inch sensors PnS (Sony RX100 series or Zv-1 series), which makes it even more travel-friendly. A lot of places ppl dun care if you are using small cameras, but once you take a mirrorless/DSLR out, it makes people uncomfortable.

Mirrorless has a smaller form factor.

But if your D90 still serves you well then probably stick to it instead of getting something else. Even sticking to Nikon Z mirrorless requires 'different' Nikon Z lenses unless you use adapters for your old F mount lenses.

If weight is a concern, avoid FF mirrorless cameras. Can considered crop factor cameras with compact size.

recently bought a A7CII. No regrets, iphone totally no fight. The C stands for compact and the A7CII is a full frame compact light 33mp camera

Currently in HK as we speak, carrying a mirrorless alongside 2 zoom lenses and a 50mm macro..

Beats the old days of lugging a 5dmk2 with battery grip and lenses..
