long chat with Live Agent

they do not seem to understand their own TnC and the effective date as it relates to posted transaction dates

confused by their own example ... thought transactions posted from 8 JULY is under enhanced terms

Ocbc doesn't distinguish online or in store spending for fx category
Online and contactless is one category, fx is another. That’s same categorisation I am talking about. How they define FX is a different story. Definition of FX was always different for UOB cards (like payment gateway must be overseas for some of the cards even if online).

They already specify the fx spending must be in store.

Mobile+online used to be $40, now becomes $30. So $30 cashback at 10 %, is $300 spend. So assuming we use it only locally on mobile + online, it's effectively 3.75% cashback ($30 rebate on $800 spend)...

Looks like we have 2 statement cycles left to utilize the current $40 cashback. Sigh it was still a decent run when DBS LF got nerfed.
might as well say 100% cashback cap at $30 to make it look better... :ROFLMAO:

i confused sia, so my EVOL statement is on 23rd of the month, will i still enjoy one more round of old TnC on 23 July?

If you don’t get the message no need to act smartass. Categories are same, not the definition, not the cap. I guess this message is hard for you to comprehend too
ultimately the definition is the more important factor

i don't understand what is your point exactly. Go ahead and buy stuff online in foreign currency and see if you get that rebate if you disagree with me. OCBC Frank card on the other hand allows for online foreign currency purchases.

I opened uob one account and evol after live fresh nerfed. It's either I apply uob one card or wait few more months before closing the one account.

What is everyone switching to?

For most people that use EVOL card for local spending only, basically it will be nerfed significantly to 3.75% or 3.93% (if you want to optimise the other spend category by using physical card for $500 of spending which equates to $1.50 cashback).

If able to clock $200 monthly for overseas in-store spending for the $20 cashback, there will be 3.25% FCY transaction fee to factor in, so nett cashback is $13.50.

Most optimal cashback is $44.40 (5.55%) for $300 for online/mobile contactless transactions, $300 for physical card transactions, $200 for overseas in-store transactions.
