Anyway whats done is done.

Yes I use alot of cc for cash rebates. Hsbc is one of my last resort cards because I max out alot of credit card cashback limit already.
I wonder if your full-time job is selling online stuff and then pay for your goods with credit card get cash rebate for the stuff you order to sell online?

With effect 1 May 2024, for HSBC Revolution credit cardholders, there will be changes to the 10X Reward Points Programme. Merchant Category Codes (MCC) 5814 (Fast Food), 5411 (Grocery Stores/Supermarkets) and 5499 (Misc Food Stores – Default) will no longer be rewarded with 9X Bonus Reward points. You can still earn 1X Base Reward point on all qualifying transactions under these 3 MCCs.
thanks for sharing! i totally missed out this notification on app or email. need to find an alternative card for ntuc spending with no minimum spending.

But again norm is 400pts to $1. If u see something different, then u need to call the bank to check, not after the fact. So its fair to accuse the bank?

Folks who use this card usually goes for the miles. 3.5% cash is not really worth it imo. If u're not in for the miles, there should be better cc for earning cash rebates.
It’s actually fantastic for those with lower monthly spends. The higher rebate cards all come with more terms to meet.

HSBC pts now pool.

I was going to cancel this card once I hit 20k miles to transfer out later this year before my mileage program expires. Look like I be keeping this card as a backup should I exceed my other cards nw. I will transfer the miles out if they decide not to extend the free transfer after Jan 25.

Someone from milelion chat contacted HSBC and they said anyone that enrolled into mileage program after Jun 23 will be refunded not sure if real or fake..

Meaning we don't have to pay the S$40/++ to convert our rewards points into mile until 31 Jan 2025? ie no need to enroll into the mileage programme?

The use case for this card has become pretty bad.
Now relegated to my drawer including HSBC advance.

this card still good for many mcc. u need replacement for which MCCs?
without the additional 1% cashback from credit card spend via everyday rewards, any other bank cc also get 2.5% cashback then can giro to EGA account to get additional 1% cashback from the cc bill?

But too bad my bulk of spending are groceries and fastfood restaurants. Haha.
This MCC nerf effectivity kill most of my expenses charge to this card.. food delivery, fast food and grocery 3/4 of my monthly expenses. I will shift these expenses to CRMC + amaze

Will still use Revo for the following since there free transfer now.
- Shopee/lazada
- Retail dept store
- atome BNPL (5999)
- Transport (Grab, Go-Jek etc)

Atome is good to spilt large purchase and with Agoda, Trip com allowing atome it's a way to shift some hotel expenses away from my uob ladies (travel category) for larger purchase.

If it was just without the 1% cashback, it would still be good for 4mpd especially with the upcoming changes and new airline partners.

Now HSBC wants us to play the Maybank F&F lottery with restaurant/fast food coding too, and removed supermarkets as well. Better for all of us to condemn this card until they wake up.

Hi guys need some small inputs from you all on accumulation on miles.

I have this HSBC Rev card and given the upcoming nerf, I am likely to shift to Citi rewards + Amaze though capped at $1000 a month.

I spend estimated $500 to $600 in Shengsiong and $300 to $400 per month on Redmart, $200 petrol.

local retail spending probably majority on restaurants - for this would HSBC Rev remains the best option?

how about for food court, fast food purchases

what would be the next best card after Citi rewards and HSBC Rev?

I also travel overseas a fair bit - any recommendation on card to use? I realize I have lose out a lot as all these years just using those cash back cards 😅

any comments greatly appreciated.

Just noticed the redemption after 1st 25pts - 10k miles is 5 pts incremental. No more orphan miles as I have more than 10k inside now.
