Yes, I had several calls from their sales teams to ask me to recontract but they won't able to give me any vouchers if I insist on the $55 plan with ONT and router

So I told me if they can get me some vouchers then call me back - so far, nothing hahah

Then it really boils down to whether you need the extra bandwidth. If don't need and have to pay for a better router, then in my opinion no point to re-contract.

Yup, so far no rush to "upgrade" from my long-time out of contract 1Gbps fiber plan

Cos once I upgrade, a lot of other things need to upgrade too

Buy new ethernet card for my PC; buy new LAN cables; buy new mesh etc

starhub keep send me sms every month ask me recontract, without anything.
abit feel like my 500mpbs starhub not that enough for my home.

any reason why so many ppl against this starhub 5gbps onr than the whizcomms 2.5gbps onr?

for this plan, if buy new router from taobao can connect and use that router for connections instead?
if that router has 2 2.5gbps port can connect dual wan to get 5gbps wireless?

1) WC plan is at S$21.80 per month. Typical Starhub 5Gbps plan is at S$45 per month or higher.

2) It is easier to bridge WC ONR compared to Nokia ONR.

3) Not possible to get above 2Gbps wireless performance from China WiFi 7 routers as of now (no 6GHz band).

4) Not possible to use dual 2.5G WAN since Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR has only one 10G LAN port and three 1G WAN port, at most you can use 2.5G/1G dual WAN, but because of Point 3), this is kind of useless.

5) When you say 500Mbps is not good enough for your home, what is the reason?

Usual issues like Poor wireless coverage have nothing to do with 500Mbps plan but mainly related to using lousy ISP issued wireless router and poor wireless router placement.

Just went down to StarHub cwp to inquire first, asked about recontract to 5Gbps.
They mention that can get $45 with ONT with ONR. Very skeptical about this, worried that during sign up process they will say sorry they make a mistake on their end.

Will try to really take the recontract this few days and update

Wow, this is really bad. Didn’t know StarHub become like this. I was given two dates. 1 for the NLT another one I think for the fibre

Just got the Starhub 5gbps plan with the ONR. Any recommendation for a router with 2.5gbps or 10gbps port? The person say Nokia Beacon 2 cannot (and i also dont want ).

Speedtest by Ookla

Server: GSL Networks - Los Angeles, CA (id: 50081)
ISP: StarHub
Idle Latency: 167.51 ms (jitter: 1.65ms, low: 167.48ms, high: 174.06ms)

249.82 ms (jitter: 77.52ms, low: 167.13ms, high: 333.91ms)

I have no packet loss at all even to USA server and DL speed at 3.5 Gbps which is faster than the ISP mentioned speed.

@Henry Ng
Maybe you want to test again to see if you see any improvements.

My Singtel 5Gbps test results for reference (just did the test).

This is better than what Singtel claims for 5Gbps plan for international location (Singtel is using Oregon server).

Thanks bro, any idea how much does the EB810v cost? My contract does not have it and Starhub says $360.

Yes, that should be the cost, S$15 per month x 24 months = S$360.

Not so sure which 5Gbps plan you subscribed to.

Starhub 5Gbps plan with ONT+TP-Link EB810v is at S$55.39 per month; whereas the typical 5Gbps plan with Nokia ONR is at S$45 per month (but there is a special offer at S$29.55 per month).

not really just SH, it also applies to all Telcos out there...
if you're really unlucky, then this unfortunate things will happen

about your two dates, that one is standard SOP. NLT will need to check your fibre-end followed by respective Telco to install the equipment in your house

The following offer is said to be for new users and there are a few M1 users reported that they signed up the following plan.

Starhub has not shared the terms and conditions online. As per the report, no change of ONR to ONT for this plan (only one user manages to do that due to the fact that Starhub sales staff accepted his offer so that Starhub had to honor the offer but with some initial hiccups).

Just wondering about the following two questions.
1) Any existing Starhub users got the offer (targetted offer, for example)?
2) Is the free router Nokia Beacon 2?
