The food delivery cannot treat the security guard house as a food collection point... But security is wrong to throw the food...
Like I was saying, absolutely nothing wrong with throwing it … it’s where he threw it. Throw into bin, throw onto grass outside the compound (although that becomes a littering charge) … sure. Go and throw on the driveway within the compound, car come in run over the liquid and the pearls stick on the tyre possibly until the car park … management and Council confirm demand security agency change guard.

are you serious?

what you mentioned requires someone who actually gives a damn about providing proper customer service. most delivery people are unfortunately impatient entitled brats.
Think not easy such customer service. That's like asking the delivery hiong.

If its single block condo still ok to anyhow humtam a unit number also seems logical. But if there are mulit-blocks, not easy. As each block unit number is different, no repeat. The security may check and know one if anyhow humtam.

But lift lobby still okay bah. Some security may be quite chin chye one, will allow in, but not all. Think usually for condo, its either access with the unit number or wait outside customer come collect.

But if the delivery hiong and do above, then risk is on the delivery bah. Not many will hiong. Waste time don't say. Might as well just follow protocol, try contact and if cannot then just leave the food somehere and take photo info.

Although, the lift lobby is quite an option, especially in condo with many blocks. Can just leave order on the mail boxes (usually inside or somewhere near lift lobby), if customer cannot be contacted and don't have unit number. Throw is the last resort. Which think not usually do. Since can still leave near lobby and take photo.

That's why I said the delivery rider is noob on this~ security guard usually won't allow entry if the rider unable to provide unit number~ the rider can tell security that the customer will meet at the lift lobby or humtam a unit number, so that he can gain access~

Once entered the basement carpark, continue to call~ if no answer, find a corner outside the lift lobby of the block to put the food and send the photo over~ screen cap the chat message for record~

If there's no place to put the food then just follow protocol, dispose food, take photo, mark job completed~
If realky newbie then hope this is taken as a lesson to be wiser ba😌
Because i feel this incident got missing links haha😅

ultimately, it is the responsibility of the delivery rider to ensure that the food reaches the customer. he should not dump the food at the security counter and expect the guard to be his mail man.

like i said, it is unrealistic to expect most delivery people to think and act in a responsible manner.

best ish to earn moar $$$
don’t bcome grab delivery. :(
nothing wrong with doing food delivery. some prefer the flexible work arrangement or they don't have high education.

it is still a respectable honest job compared to those who scam people money or sell white powder.

just that this delivery guy is dumb who doesn't want to follow protocols.

This delivery guy very smart.. Customer never pick up call. He don't want to wait. Nowhere to put. If he just put anywhere and lost, the responsibility goes to the delivery guy. So put at guard house. If the security throw = becomes security's responsibility. 😂

It's technically revenge on the customer for missing calls + make another person take the responsibility lol. Very devious haha.

As long you don't touch the packaging, there will be no grounds of tampering or food poisoning.

This is my 2cent as some1 who manage security ops for a public accessible estate.

why cannot put down there lei? I don't see why cannot put at the guard house? so anal meh?

why must make things difficult for all?
Am curious on your prevailing prescribed SOP when it comes to such occurrence.

From your response, I’d infer that you’d permit such ‘leave at guard house’ practice, to be subsequently retrieved by the intended recipients, with no idea when they’ll come, if ever.

Think poor service is to just simply throw when uncontactable. Although there is protocol somewhat for such. Most delivery tend don't do that. Especially when most commercial and private buildings still got the security as a common point for both sides to meet halfway. The customer may question why throw. Could have just leave at the security.

But for alot of condo that is not an option. Security tend don't allow. Not sure that is their S.O.P from management or they just don't want take the risk of responsibility. For they are also lowly paid. They don't want any trouble from customer if anything wrong with the food after they take over. Some customers can be quite unreasonable one. Especially condo residents.

Most delivery think tend will try leave it somewhere for customer to collect later, even when at first not contactable. As quite some customers when busy with their own things, often totally forgot about their delivery order and don't have the phone nearby to see the message or hear and response immediate. So have to leave some leeway for the customer, for the sake of customer service.

So, usually when still have the security there. Can just called the customer to try talk to the security to leave at security first. If customer totally uncontactable, then try cham-siong with security to allow go in and leave somewhere prominent near lift lobby, like the mail boxes or fire hydrant. Where customer can collect order later when noticed order delivered.

Customer never provide full delivery info, its the delivery guy's problem to resolve with the delivery platform. Just because he doesn't want to wait for the issue to be settled, he thinks he can dump his problem onto someone else ?
