" Jade Emperor" in Taoism is only a high position in 仙班, meaning like a President in the Sg cabinet.

in Buddhism, all heavenly beings are considered as 天人 if they never attain Bodhisattva level of Buddhism.

It really depends... bypassing cycle doesnt mean more powerful. It just means u forsake who u are and give up on all ur wants and desires... nothing is important anymore, including yourself and your loved ones. Of course no pain and 看开 超脱... cauz u dont matter to urself...

In taoism. Is about 无为... let things be according to law of nature.. so theres no need to bypass whatever cycle... their power is derived from law of nature... not from giving up on their own existence like buddhism

Theres no higher or lower. Is just what u want or desire and what their power is derived from... electrical or fuel energy?

What you say is true but can also be interpreted as sacrificing many things to attain enlightenment which majority can’t achieve.

We get many ideas and thinking from folktales and novels like JTTW. If you watched it, Jade emperor is not a fighter and cannot handle Wukong but Buddha handled him with ease.



You see he just run away only when Wukong creating havoc. Then in the end ask Buddha for help.

The silly story is the medieval china version of a not so simple story.

Heaven and the Buddhist figures in the story does not refer to the mythological counterparts in their respective religion but rather government bureaucrats.

I think is because of the so called 劫难, then need deities to sacrifice to overcome the heavenly disaster

All these stories from tang dynasty when the tang emperor tried to salvage his ruling power by introducing buddhism as a new player to balance out against taoism... so im not surprised these fiction stories try to depict buddhism as stronger
