If I were to invest in a 2k macbook, I would never use a ugreen charger to charge the laptop. Devices can be easily damaged by improper chargers. I hope more people will realise that ugreen does not make good chargers.

I would feel aggrieved if there is paint peeling on my 2k phone. But there is no conceivable way to me to prove to the SCT that the peeling is caused by an improper charger, or user negligence.

But if I were the TS, I would not bother with all these SCT nonsense. I would try to "accidentally" spoil my 2k phone a little bit more, and hope samsung care+ will replace the phone.

What an insult.. Samsung just gave a few promo codes to previous gen stuff like Fold 5 and Watch 6.. when I already have the peeling Fold 6 and Watch 7. Nice one Samsung..

I am inclined to agree with you, after this episode, a Samsung phone is the last thing I'll own. I've only bought phones 2nd-hand in the past and this is the first time I plunged straight into a brand new Z Fold 6. I'll keep bringing up this episode everywhere to remind everyone that there are better options with other brands where the paint won't peel :)
Inb4 other samsung user say their samsung no such issue. Must be user problem.
I'm a fold 6 owner. Didn't encounter peeling so far. 90% of the time is wireless charging.

Even if I don't like Samsung.
Wear and tear not covered is the same for every brand. :(

Good for you. I also don't believe every single Fold has the same issue, although I wish it were the case so they would recall. Maybe I just got one bad phone out of many. It's just my personal experience that I'm sharing, anyone who is thinking of buying a Fold can just take it as an additional data point before deciding if they wanna plonk down 2k on this phone or some other brand that doesn't have similar reported issues.

thank you. hmm so SCT better than CASE? SCT filing fee is $10, probably takes me about 30 mins to file the claim. Might not do anything much but if more people actually do something, maybe it'd make them sit up...
FYI.

Their are not from samsunbut 3 party coy running the service centre on Samsung behalf

All phone model whether cheap or expensive will have a small % to encounter some sort of defects. Green line, inner screen dead, can't unfold fully etc. I feel it's just a matter of luck. Sucks that comestic issue not covered under warranty cause it's hard to pinpoint is it hardware or user issue.

Interestingly... Samsung said they would grant me a 1-time free-of-charge repair.... I'm not sure how they are going to repair it, do they have a way to just dismantle the outer case and replace that part only?

fairy tale ending.. got my phone back after a few days of repair, they replaced the housing, LCD and battery (I guess because it all comes as one). There had been a slight dent at the hinge but that's gone as well since it was part of the housing. phone looks as good as new again.

This has restored my faith in Samsung quite a bit.. but now to find some decal/protective transparent sticker to cover up the exterior.
But I'm also of half a mind to sell it off, the paint peeling thing is too scary.

lucky i didnt have to go to case or SCT..
