SINGAPORE – A 24-year-old man arrested in Sengkang during a drug operation on Oct 19 was found to have a stash of drugs at his home, including 6.2kg of cannabis.
Individuals found guilty of trafficking more than 500g of cannabis may face the mandatory death penalty.
Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers arrested the man on the ground floor of a residential block in Fernvale Link, the agency said in a news release on Oct 22.
They escorted the man to his residence in the same block, where they found the cannabis. Officers also found 472g of Ecstasy, 238g of Ice, 3,081 Erimin-5 tablets, 42 vaping devices containing cannabis and six packets of cannabis-laced gummies.
The man was one of four people arrested for suspected drug offences in two operations conducted by the CNB on Oct 18 and 19. In total, drugs with an estimated street value of more than $321,000 were seized.

The drug haul seized during the operations could feed the addiction of about 1,310 abusers for a week.

On Oct 18, a male driver, 36, and his female passenger, 26, were arrested after CNB officers intercepted a vehicle at the junction of Bedok North Avenue 3 and Bedok North Road.

Upon searching the car, officers found about 531g of Ice, 126g of ketamine, 107g of cannabis, 100g of Ecstasy, 370 Erimin-5 tablets and 139g of cannabis-laced gummies.

Another man, 32, a Malaysian, was arrested on the evening of Oct 19 at his home in Fernvale Street. A small amount of ketamine was found on him.

Investigations into the drug activities of all the arrested suspects are ongoing.
