There’s really only 1 reason - Back then taxis were factored into the COE pool. A scientist by profession (I know him personally) took the effort to plot the rise and fall of COE prices over the years and established the pattern of crash happened once every 8+ years which coincided with when taxi companies refresh their fleet, and since there was no way taxis were going to have sky high COEs, that was when you should try for low bids.

The next crash was expected between 2014-2015 … in 2013 or 2014 they took taxis out of the COE pool. So the crash never happened again.

2007 COE crashed. buy car super cheap

that kind of thing can never happen again. unless got another system cock up or mishap....

But now got phvs isn't it? Not counted in d pool now?

Don’t think got anyone earning 50k in 2007 and now earning 300k unless some super scale scorer
