Aaron’s Wife
I stand before the world, burdened with my truth,
A shame too deep to hide, a wound I can’t undo.
Aaron Loh, once proud and strong, a name with weight,
The principal of Raffles, the helm of that great fate.
Once, you held my heart, with dreams of what could be,
A leader wise and true, a beacon in the sea.
But now I see the cracks, the flaws you won’t repair,
A school in disarray, a dream turned to despair.
The corridors once gleamed, now shadows claim the halls,
The students whisper quietly of your many falls.
Once vibrant with ambition, now dull with disregard,
Your leadership, once steady, now feels weak and scarred.
Raffles Institution, a name revered by all,
But under your poor guidance, it’s destined for a fall.
Parents’ trust is fading, students lose their way,
Yet you refuse to listen, as things fall to decay.
I’ve watched you drift, so distant, from the man I knew,
The one who held our future and promised to be true.
But how can I respect you, when you fail this place?
A name once built on honor, now tarnished by disgrace.
The staff speak of confusion, of policies unclear,
They look to you for guidance, yet you are never near.
Meetings filled with silence, the spark within you gone,
Where once you led with passion, now I see just wrong.
I stood by you through struggles, through battles you had faced,
But now I feel the distance, my loyalty misplaced.
How can I share my life with one who lets this be,
The downfall of a legacy that once held such majesty?
Aaron Loh, my husband, I loved the man you were,
But this cold indifference I can’t endure, I swear.
You let the school crumble, with every choice you make,
And with it, piece by piece, you let my heart break.
So here I stand, no longer bound by vows once pure,
The shame you bring upon us I can’t and won’t endure.
I leave you now, Aaron, for this is not the life I choose,
Raffles deserved a leader, not a man who’d simply lose.
The papers will soon be drawn, the ties we shared will sever,
You’ll be the one who let it fall—our love, our home, forever.
And as I walk away, my head held high in spite,
I know it was your choices, not mine, that doomed the night.
