several inconsistencies:

1. CPF Contributions for Platform Workers Born Before 1995:

- Contradiction: The article states that platform workers born before 1995 can "opt in" to increased CPF contributions, receiving contributions from platform operators matching employee and employer rates. However, it also mentions that if they don't opt in, they will continue to contribute to MediSave only and won't receive contributions from the platform operator. This creates a contradiction: if they don't opt in, they won't receive contributions, but the article also says they will continue to contribute to MediSave. This implies that contributions are still being deducted, even without opting in.

2. Platform Workers CPF Transition Support (PCTS):

- Inconsistency: The article states that PCTS will provide monthly cash support to offset part of the year-on-year increase in CPF contributions. However, the table showing the offset percentages for different years (2025-2028) only mentions the offset of the increase in Ordinary and Special Accounts (OSA) contributions. It doesn't clarify whether the MediSave contribution increase is also offset by PCTS, creating an inconsistency.

3. Workfare Income Supplement (WIS):

- Inconsistency: The article mentions that eligible platform workers will receive WIS payments monthly instead of annually from 2025. It then states that from 2029, eligible platform workers mandated or opting into increased CPF contributions will receive higher WIS payments at the same level as employees. This implies that the WIS payments for platform workers will change again in 2029, but it doesn't clarify whether the monthly payments will continue or revert to annual payments.

These inconsistencies make it difficult for platform workers to understand their exact CPF obligations and benefits.

It is a good move so that these people will not be a potential burden to the Gov next time.

actually there's many old folks that do delivery, i dun think they wanna burden anyone~ on the contrary, those that rely on handouts, have they tried doing food delivery~?

i always see this uncle, age above 60 to 70~ very hard working, work passed midnight still roaming at the street~

It's a 80/20 thingy. Cannot solve the issue fully but at least ensure the heavy burden is not on the Gov, or rather the tax payers in the future.

those below age 30 next year is compulsory~ also depends on how much they earn that month, there's 4 tiers of earning, vary from zero contribution to full contribution~

It’s never just their problem. A group’s problem can become Govt’s problem and taxpayers problem. It may not impact the taxpayers directly but when society has more cmi people on welfare, it’s a burden to taxpayers.
I understand, but yeah unless we draw a line to stop this, nothing u or I can say or do to change things for this group.

They work no cpf, no mediaave nothing.
Next time use what to buy house or retire.
No cpf, no medisave, does not mean cannot buy house or retire wat.
I reckon for a grounded person, if take own responsibility will probably save more then wat CPF requires leh. And still hab that flexibility to draw on that savings should the need arise.

For those above 55 and hit FRS should opt in as the money will goes to OA just like saving account.

I do agree.
But somehow you notice those doing such job people have poor financial planning.
Got money spend.

To be frank if those with good financial planning and think of the future will not do such job leow.
They want flexible job hours, no need see boss face, happy work not happy don't work.

Exactly. With sgp being a high cost country. These workers are going to be a burden to their family, themselves and eventually the whole gov will need to feed them

If last time such worker I do agree can survive cause my dad is doing taxi for decades.
But now is different.

If younger generation study til poly or uni doing such job their future will be gg

this will only mean the chao kuan platforms will charge more to claw back the money

end result is even less ppl will use the service and it will just die out.
I don't forsee it will die out. Now with so many strawberry gen all lazy to go out you think they won't wanna pay meh?
Even if one bowl of Mee cost $10.50 but the platform delivery charge is $20. Total $30.50 people also willing to pay.

when the market shrinks to a very bad state, it will stop being viable as a regular job option.
