Must do at shop.
In oct when I return the 1Gbps ONT to starhub tampines, the CS staff rejected the wavier immediately saying they are not the correct or authority to do and definitely cannot do it in store as that is from the billing department, thus I called 1630 and whatsapp them to explain the situation and wavier was approved.

My current Tel/TV/ISP set up:
A) Singtel TV Chinese Pack + Android box rental in living room at $38 per mth (just signed 12 months contract and will be continuing as long as my parents want it). Singtel ONT - Asus RT-AX86U - Android box via LAN port 4

B) Legacy 1 Gbps Singtel broadband which has since lapsed a few years ago and which I am paying $44+ per mth and Singtel informed me there will be a switch to ONR once I recontract or the ONT dies. Singtel ONT to Asus router in living room- 3 x very old Asus Lyra Trio spread out in the house for full Wi-Fi coverage - Ethernet cable from LAN Port 2 to master bedroom for wired connection to my desktop and Starhub android box for Premier League

C) Singnet email and Digital voice bundled with broadband

D) Starhub Premier league via their android box in my master bedroom with no contract at $40+

I am not rushing but I am preparing to change broadband and digital voice provider in the very near future, and it looks like I should switch to Starhub to get an ONT broadband plan + Premier League combo to save some money. I got some questions inside my head to seek the advice of gurus here as I am afraid I might screw things up if I act with impulse.

1) If I cancel Singtel broadband/digital voice and get Starhub services, how is the cabling going to be like?
I think I will then have two ONT devices. One from ST and SH each.
I am assuming my current Asus router has to receive the SH ONT connection through WAN port. The outgoing LAN connections should take care of my existing Wi-Fi/ethernet/Starhub tv in master bedroom needs. How do I connect to my SingTel android box from ST ONT? Can LAN port 4 on the Asus router still work? Or do I need another router to receive the cable from ST ONT?

2) Can I port my current ST number to SH for digital voice? Any tips regarding how to ensure no screw up? They are mainly used by my parents...

Thanks in advance :)
Honestly Starhub Homehub ultra speed at $110/mth will do the job for you. Got Premier and Sports and English enterainment and Asian TV so you can watch more football and other sports. Very good with free Apps like Netflix and Viu etc.

Strange Tampines shop CS. 1630 can do means they also can. It is same same la. They same rank. I think they put up online to ask for waive and their manager approved it, then ok.

returned the old modem to terminate the expired 1gbps plan and the staff insisted that the existing number cannot be ported over despite us confirming twice through 1630 before the installation.

now termination on hold while waiting for their sales staff to get back to us. i think another user here also had this issue.
got 1 bro say porting old to new line no issue

basically paying 2 broadband till old line port to new line
than go terminate the old fibre line

Thanks. Actually i was looking at this plan. By paying $25 more, i get 10Gbps broadband, a TP link wifi 7 router and Netflix + FA cup and UCL to my existing Premier League. . I already got free Disney+ and Amazon Prime from my singtel mobile plan.

1) I suppose i have to change my Singtel ONT to a ONR so the cable can go direct to my Singtel TV?
2)Can i use back my existing Asus RT-AX86U with Starhub broadband ONT and keep the TP link wifi 7 router for the future when my next desktop has a 10Gig network card?

This is what I told the 1630 sales. He said cannot. Only can get new digital voice number with activation fee $21.80. From other provider port in to Starhub digital voice is no problem.

Should be able to use back ASUS but I do not recommend it as it do not have 10G WAN. What type of cable are you using at home. Cat 6 LAN cable?

The CSO must be new. Yes we activate a new number first and told them we need number retention and arrange for number pop in at the same time. 3 to 5 days after the digital voice is up then the existing number will pop in from the other ISP. If same SH digital voice then we de-bundle the digital voice from the old plan and then bundle it to the new plan. Then it is done. Just call 1630 again. Read this link below:

8 How do I request to port in my fixed-line number from another telco to StarHub?
You can request porting of your fixed-line number from another telco to StarHub at any of our shops. Please ensure your number is active during the port-in process.
An activation fee of $21.80 applies if you don’t have an existing Digital Voice Home service that will be replaced by the number you’re porting in. Porting may take 8 working days to complete.

11 What exactly is the Number Retention Service?
Number Retention is a number portability service that allows you to retain your existing fixed line phone number when you switch from other operators to StarHub. You can enjoy the benefits and superior service of Digital Voice Home without giving up your existing fixed-line phone number.
After the service is activated, your telephone number (from the other operator) will be shown as your Digital Voice Home Caller ID and will be the number reflected in the bills.

Cat 6 LAN but i do not have plans to install a 10Gig network card on my current desktop. I will have it when i change my current desktop in a year or two…

Maybe i use the bundled free TP link Router in the living room and keep the Asus RT-AX86U to replace my Lyra Trio nodes when they eventually break down….

From other telco to Starhub digital voice retention can be done. From Starhub other plan to Starhub digital voice number retention is not possible. Check with Selina also said cannot be done.

i use to have Homehub 1G plan and then i signed the Homehub 10G, they unbundled the digital voice from my old plan and bundled to the new plan. May be this plan too cheap so SH is not willing to do it or do not allow it.

If you do not want to buy a new router then go for ONR and if you want to buy a router then go for ONT. If use wired connection from ONR to router and the router is put to AP then not double NAT. I suggest you get ONT and the 710 router which is better if you are using wifi and no LAN connection. If using 10G NIC cable connection then take 810v just like me. Quite fast. I am on Homehub+ ultra speed 10G. Do consider it carefully as their router quite good.

Any existing (out of contract) starhub broadband subscriber managed to recontract and get the 5gbs $29.55 plan?

Any loop hole? Sign 2nd starhub broadband and cancel existing broadband?

Me. The CS will help you make magic
By right , the $29.55 plan is meant for new sign ups. Not recontract

No need to cancel existing broadband. Go to the shop and ask the CS. They will help you to get the $29.55 plan, in a way that is "recontract"

They may at first not offer you. Only the $45/month ONR by recontract. You have to convince/negotiate
