My upcoming new BTO flat is better using dry wall and wifi can flow easily.
I see... thanks. I will try to WA her today then. I saw some comments here earlier that she was unreachable/unable to help with the "recontracting"hmm... what's happening to Selina? I just signed up with her through whatsapp last sunday. She still responded to me that day... Not sure if she entertains calls or not...

See if this works.
Thanks xiaofan, good point re ONR 1G LAN Port. That implies my wireless backhaul between the 2 BQ16 via ONR will be limited to 1G since that is a bottleneck?
Internal wiring is CAT 6 to patch panel in DB box.
- Yellow dot is FTP and ONT inside DB box (wooden door) inside kitchen, with a glass sliding kitchen door.
- Red dots are where I plan to place the BQ16. Main Router BQ16 placed in DB box next to ONT, satellite BQ16 placed in Study 1 where there is a LAN port back to the patch panel in DB box so can wired backhaul.
- Green dots are LAN points throughout the house
I am currently running 3x Orbi RBR/RBS852 inside DB box (1), Study 1 (wired backhaul), and Master (wireless backhaul). Currently poor wifi/ broadband coverage points are the balcony and master bathroom (quite intermittent).
Plan is to upgrade to 2x BQ16 at the red dots. Not sure if that will provide enough coverage and throughput, after I upgrade to SH 5Gbps plan.
Open to any feedback pls, thanks.
Anyone figured out how to get a Mac to do WiFi 7 6Ghz 320Mhz? Do any Asus routers function as a network interface through their 3.0 USB ports?
Why are you running Wireless backhaul in the master bedroom when there is a LAN point there?![]()
See if this works.
I see, thanks. Maybe have to buy one more unit of BQ16?Looks tough. You have a large flat and the floor plan looks a bit complicated.
I do not think two Asus ZenWiFi BQ16 will be better in terms of coverage than your existing setup.
Netgear Orbi 850 mesh is pretty good.
Thanks. There is a LAN point in master bedroom but on the wrong side, the satellite RBS50 currently placed on the opposite wall where there is a vanity desk to place it on. Where the LAN point is a blank wall with no table or shelf, didn’t want to put it randomly on the floor. Why are you running Wireless backhaul in the master bedroom when there is a LAN point there?
Instead of getting Asus BQ16, consider the Netgear 970 mesh. The 970 should mesh with your existing 850s'. Then you will have 5 mesh nodes and can put one at every LAN point. That should flood your house with WiFi.
Get a small book selve to place it near the LAN port. Such small one is easy and cheap.Thanks. thanks for rec, I will look into Orbi 970. But the main issue as I posted above is I suspect my Orbi RBR/RBS50 is giving problem or degraded due to dropping LAN connection. And recent 6 months it keeps going purple 4-5 times a day, dropping internet connectivity.
Must also make sure got power point there too.Get a small book selve to place it near the LAN port. Such small one is easy and cheap.
Of course but i think there is power point as the person say do not want to put the router on the floor but no desk there. Such small book selve is very cheap and put some books there.Must also make sure got power point there too.

My 5y.o. Orbi RBR50 and RBS50 giving trouble, suspect the LAN ports have issue as always throttle down to 100Mbps few mins after reboot despite updating firmware, changing to new CAT 6A cables etc.
Sharing the detailed location of existing ONT, Asus router and Deco M9 units.

I do not have any LAN ports in any of the rooms and are using wireless backhaul for my entire house.
Existing Asus router is RT-AX56U.
My only requirements are:
1) Make sure whole house is blanketed with wireless coverage
2) To keep the set up as simple as possible - for easy maintenance, upgrade, future proof, etc)
My last post probably wasn't clear for anyone to help so here is my floor plan.

House is fully wired with Cat 6 from Utility room. Current FTP/ONT/Cable box are located in this room.
My requirements are :
1) Make sure whole house is blanketed with coverage
2) Need to have enough ports for my Hue Bridge + TP Link Door Bell
3) Desktop PC to be hardwired preferably.
My plan:
A) EB810v at Utility room. Two 2.5G ports for the Hue Bridge and Door Bell. 10G connected to D5 in cable box
B) At D5 which is my gaming room, 10G cable in to either EB810v or HB710. 10G cable out to my PC.
C) At D1, put a HB710 to triangulate the signals and make sure house is totally covered.
Qn 1: At D5 most bang for buck solution will be H710 but that means all 2.5G ports taken up at the EB810v in the utility room ( Hue bridge, Door Bell and H710 at D1). In the future should I need any more ports, I will be stuck.
I do have a Netgear unmanaged Gigabit switch that I use currently with my Deco X20. Can I connect this to one of the 2.5G ports and then connect the Hue Bridge and Door bell to it? If yes, I will free up one 2.5G port.
Alternative: Bite the bullet and get another EB810v at D5. This means I get more ports without the need for any switches. Although the bulk of the EB810v means I need to clear some space to put it in.
Any suggestions are welcome especially from @xiaofan
Thanks!
Try two units of HB710 first to see if that works, if not, add one more node.
ONT --> HB710 main router --> wireless backhaul --> HB710 mesh node (in the main bedroom first, then add in kitchen area if needed).

Thanks Xiaofan.Yes I think your plan will work. You can use the gigabit switch after the 2.5G port to save the 2.5G ports.
Just two HB710 should work, add the kitchen router later if you need. If you willing, then change all. Thanks for the suggestion
Just to confirm, i would have to replace all my deco M9 plus units if I'm gg to use HB710 right?
