First of all, the term is "rifle" and not "gun". In SAF terminology, "gun" refers to artillery pieces, mortar those "dua kee" weapons.

M16 is "better" from the NSF/NSmen because it is easier to handle, weight is lighter and better distributed than the SAR21.

Whilst SAR21 comes with built in scope, the scope can get fogged up, the carrying handle and other parts of the weapon are sharp and can cut/scratch you and it is much heavier with poorer weight distribution.

I used M16 during full-time NS, went through SAR21 conversion midway during reservist, find that yes the scope for SAR21 helps you shoot more accurately but overall, I find the M16 a more user-friendly weapon.
But so long the gun chiu ok meh Bro panzergrenadier? :(

M16 so much easier to handle. Got marksman with the M16. My PS gave us a scope to play with on the M16. When properly zeroed, can really shoot one hole with 3 rounds. I would say the M16 is scarily accurate, at least mine was.

Was made to go for technical handling for the SAR during my final ICT. TMD, can't shoot **** with it. Yes, even with the scope. Don't know why. So obviously my vote goes to M16.

M16 is way better.. There are many modern firearm systems still using the same system as m16. Look at the recent colt Lar. Same like m16... M16 one rotating switch u switch between safe, semi and auto... Sar21 u need to find the button near yr armpit to switch auto.

Generally, normal unit don't do a lot of FIBUA or urban combat where shorter barrel would be helpful.

I find the M16 is not that much longer than SAR21.

SAR21 I just dislike the weight. Hard to get used to it when I spend 2.5 years handling it versus just a few weeks during reservist playing with SAR21.

Anyway, I already demobilized for donkey years. It is more for those NSFs and NSmen who still have liabilities to worry about which is better/worse.

Which one easily IA?

I only used AR15 during my time.
Only use AR15? U guarding key point installation?
I've tried firing 100 plus blanks on auto for both before, M16 keeps IA due to the fact that most M16 for reservists are alrdy 20 yrs or more. Where else SAR is relatively younger in service compared to M16

Recon. So I can 👍🏻 to the choppers. Those pilots always ignore your TAG, right? 🤣 We were always short of people. In the beginning, we stole one platoon of Guardsman to make a company.

PFC was rare, now it’s almost extinct. I think RSAF/RSN stopped using it.
Everyone educated le. Even my time whole platoon poly and JC grad. Everyone is CPL. Think this is why they introduced CFC.
