its a false economy if people want to use their luggage gao gao until it breaks, then find replacement. cos when it breaks in the middle of your trip, you have to scramble to find a replacement out of nowhere, and pay whatever it costs then.

The Singaporean's luggage seems low quality.
Assuming Jetstar luggage handling crew handle all luggages the same way.
Then there should be 70% of all luggage from the flight broken.

you have to assume that your luggage will be damaged , missing or things stolen

and plan accordingly so your holiday is not screwed up if it happens

I put important stuff and anything that I cannot afford to lose in my Hand carry, (work related, medicines, 1 pc winter jacket during winter)

I brought a cheap luggage to Europe and it broke

I was given the option to file for claim or they gave me a replacement on the spot
I took the replacement luggage

What has it got to do with the jetstar or any airline, she should claim from luggage company or insurance. No brand cheap luggage from lazada, she is lucky that the wheels never come off when going up escalator and whole luggage break into half.

And don't use budget luggage on long haul flights.

Get a Tumi, or a BRICS luggage if can't afford Tumi. Heard from some rich aunties that LV luggage still the best as the company started off by making luggages by hand.
