Your case very similar to me. I had been with M1 broadband 15 years. Not in contract past 2 to 3 years, on 500mbps. Never recontract till now cos 500mbps sufficient for family and price ok.
I could have stayed on with M1 500Mbps plan as well. Becoz of this re-contract offer 6Gbps plan at $32.90 with just additional of $2+ ($30+ for M1 500Mbps plan) and given free WiFi 7 Router to replace my ancient Linksys router way back from Starhub time.

u pay 58.80 for the WIFI 7 router...not free but very good bargain...$2.45X24 and upgrade of speed to 6GBPs which does not enhance your surfing experience

if you are able to sign up successfully, you have already passed their check for readiness. Shouldn't be a problem.

Most likely you are reading the cache version of the website, try deleting cookie and cache from m1 website and try again

Called M1 Shop regarding the 6Gbps promo, and CSO shared the same old story that the promo is for targeted customers.
Upon further pushing, CSO will email marketing department to check if the promo can be applied for me.

I am currently on 1Gbps plan with Asus GT-AX6000. Max it can go is 2.5Gbps.
Thus, either I get the 3Gbps plan or go onto the 6Gbps plan if I am eligible.

Question on router:
If I am happy with the performance and coverage of the GT-AX6000, should I go with TP-Link Archer BE805 or top up for ASUS ZenWiFi BT10? I do not have wired backhaul, and the BT10 would be on wireless mesh.

* marks the GT-AX6000 location, where the fibre point is.
I usually work at the red circle in the master bedroom and am able to get full 5GHz bars on my laptop with 780/780 (Mbps).

If you are fine with the wireless performance of the GT-AX6000 (still one of the best WiFi 6 routers out there), then no need to change. It is a perfect option for 3Gbps plan. It is of course not the best for 6Gbps plan but why change since your wireless speed achieved is still great. Even if you change to Archer BE805, you may get similar speed at the red circle (you will only get faster close range speed if you have WiFi 7 clients). GT-AX6000 also has better FW features than Archer BE805.

You can sell the Archer BE805 or the pair ZenWiFi BT10 to offset the per month subscription price.

Hmmm... Using GT-AX6000 with a 6Gbps plan feels like a waste of bandwidth though.
But since I'm currently on 1Gbps, with a boost to 2.5Gbps (WAN limit), I should not feel much difference too?

M1 6Gbps plan is much better than 3Gbps in terms of value, even without the S$15 OFF recontract offer, if you factor in the resale price of the bundled router, say S$300 for Archer BE805. IMHO no point to go with 3Gbps plan at all.

If you upgrade to 3Gbps plan or 6Gbps plan but keep using GT-AX6000.
Wired device: big improvement, from 1Gbps to 2.5Gbps

Wireless: double speed to 1.6Gbps at close range if you have good WiFi 6 or better client which supports 160MHz channel bandwidth on the 5GHz band, less improvement in far range though.

Whether the improvement is useful to your use cases, that is another story.

Thank you for the detailed explanation.
Hope the M1 CSO will call me with good news soon!

Choose 1 for free:
  • TP-Link Archer BE805 (worth $799)
  • ASUS ZenWiFi BT10 (Pack of 2, worth $1,299)
So regardless of which one you chose its free? Why would one get BE805 though? Even if you have own router, surely BT10 resale price is higher?
Yup. Regardless of what you chose, it's free.

Why would one get BE805? Most likely is because there are lots of BT10 on carousell and it will be tough to offload the twin BT10.

The other unlikely reason is probably is either brand preference. Most people prefer Asus over TpLink. But I think there will be small amount of people likes TpLink

My place is not 3gbps ready but I received the promotion email to recontract 6gbps at $32.90 with free BE805. Anyone like me?

I think it is most likely you are viewing a cache version of m1 website. Do clear your cache and cookies for m1 website and try again.

Or there may be a possibility that the website has not updated your address availability.

May I know when did you receive the email? I last receive in January, promotion ends 22 Feb.
