Syed Harun Alhabsyi
The second former NMP on this list, Syed Harun resigned on the same day as Raj, and is speculated to be running in the upcoming election.

Syed Harun published his resignation letter on his Facebook page on Feb. 14. In the post, he shared he was exploring opportunities to serve "in a different capacity".

Potential constituency: ???

Theodora Lai

The final member of PAP's presumptive Sengkang team on this list, and the branch chair of Sengkang North.

Image from Lai's Facebook

She is also the co-founder of venture capital firm, Morinaga Ventures. Lai has also been a community volunteer since 2009.

Possible constituency: Sengkang GRC

Valerie Lee
Valerie Lee Nai Yi, Sembcorp's head of corporate affairs for Singapore and Southeast Asia, was spotted at functions at West Coast GRC in late-2024.

Image from Foo Mee Har FB

However more recently, she has been seen with ministers from the Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC.

ST has also reported earlier that Lee had been seen at East Coast GRC.

Possible constituencies: Pasir Ris-Changi GRC

Now that about covers it for the ruling party, what about their primary challenger?

all i see are elites n well-to-do ppl with exceptional strong background
Every major party is recruiting elites because sinkies only vote for elites.

Not like WP is fielding cleaners and grab drivers. :s13:

Workers' Party

WP fielded 12 new candidates (we will count Nicole Seah as a new candidate, because this was the first time she competed with WP) out of a total of 21 candidates in the 2020 election.

This time around experts predict the party will contest around 31 seats.

WP has always been tight-lipped about where their candidates will stand in an upcoming election. In 2015, Low Thia Khiang continued the party's tradition of announcing the slate of candidates before nomination day, but not where they were running in.

Current WP leader Pritam Singh appears to be abide by that same rule. An ST article cited Singh at a WP forum saying there was little purpose to reveal who their candidates would be and where they would stand before nomination day, without a "strategic or tactical" reason.

This is a very rough, and potentially super-inaccurate, gauge of who will run, but potential candidates that have a public Facebook page like this:

Or a variant of that descriptor, like public service, or even politician, will be a good bet for an election run in the upcoming election. Keep that in mind.

Anyway let's run through the potential new faces for WP.

Abdul Muhaimin Abdul Malik

Sengkang GRC will need one more candidate to replace Raeesah Khan for the upcoming election.

And considering how tightly WP holds their cards to their chest, it involves quite a bit of guesswork to their potential candidates prior to nomination day.

This pick though might actually be one of the less speculative candidates.

The Senior Property Manager with Aljunied-Hougang Town Council has been spotted on many walkabouts with Sengkang GRC MPs.

Perhaps more pointedly, Pritam posted a photo of the three current Sengkang MPs with Muhaimin, referring to them as "Team Sengkang".

Potential constituency: Sengkang GRC

Andre Low

A strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and a member of the WP media team.

Low has been tipped by ST to compete in Tampines GRC (along with three others whom we will get to), where WP is preparing for a potential four-corner fight.

Andre Low middle left/ WP FB

Potential constituency: Tampines GRC

Ang Boon Yaw

The senior associate at Yeo Marini is seen as a potential candidate for this GE.

He is often seen with Kenneth Foo Seck Guan, who ran in East Coast for the 2020 GE, on walkabouts.

Ang is also the deputy organising secretary of the WP, currently serving his second term in the CEC.

Potential constituency: East Coast GRC

Afifah Khalid

The second of the four potential new candidates the media has picked out that might run in Tampines.

Afifah and Low/ WP FB

According to ST, Afifah is an associate director in the financial services industry.

Potential constituency: Tampines GRC

Harpreet Singh Nehal

FACEBOOK ALERT, FACEBOOK ALERT. One of the only potential new candidates from WP with a public Facebook page that looked like the one mentioned earlier.

Singh, who's a senior counsel, has been spotted walking the grounds with other WP members since 2023.

Image from Harpreet Singh's Facebook

He has been seen with GE 2020 Marine Parade candidates, Nathaniel Koh and Fadli Fawzi, at Marine Parade.

However a Mar. 20 ST article cited political observers saying Singh could easily be redeployed to other battlegrounds like East Coast GRC.

An extensive profile feature of Singh can be found on online magazine Jom.

Potential constituency: Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC

Jackson Au

Au is a senior manager for corporate affairs and marketing at the London Stock Exchange Group.

He is also part of the WP media team and an executive committee member for the youth wing.

He has been seen at various WP battlegrounds, including at Marine Parade, with CNA pointing out that he has been "most active" in the Serangoon division of the Aljunied GRC.

That division was previously overseen by Leon Perera, who resigned from the party.

Potential constituency: Aljunied GRC

Jasper Kuan

The third of the potential Tampines WP team. Kuan is a strategist in the financial and digital payment sectors.

Image from WP FB

The WP party member has been seen on walkabouts and events in Tampines.

Potential constituency: Tampines GRC

Jeraldine Phneah

Phneah is a long-time volunteer for WP, and has been seen on walkabouts in the Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC.

Image from Fawzi's Facebook

An account director at Alphasense, WP's 2020 Marine Parade team member Fadli Fawzi praised Phneah in the caption of a Facebook reel on Mar. 18.

Jimmy Tan

Tan is self-employed.

He is also Pritam Singh's legislative assistant.

Potential constituency: Tampines GRC

And that completes the non-exhaustive list for WP, now on to the party with the third-most members in the parliament.

Goh Han Yan stands out to me the most. I’m not sure what I like about her, but I do find her appealing.

GE2025: S’poreans can check names from March 28 in voter rolls based on new electoral boundaries

The checks can be done online, or physically at a community centre or club or a ServiceSG Centre.

SINGAPORE - From March 28, Singaporeans who are eligible to vote in the upcoming general election can check their names in the voter rolls, which have been updated based on the new electoral boundaries.

They can access the Registers of Electors either through the Elections Department (ELD) website by clicking on the “Voter Services” section, or logging in through Singpass and going to “My Profile”.

Those who cannot do so online can visit a community centre or club or a ServiceSG Centre, said ELD in a statement on March 27.

Singaporeans can also visit the ELD office by making an appointment online through its website or by calling 1800-225-5353.

The latest update to voter rolls includes transferring the relevant polling district or districts to the new electoral division, based on the recommendations by the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee (EBRC).

On March 11, the EBRC published its report – a key sign that the next general election is around the corner. A general election must be held by November 2025.

Singaporeans living overseas and are unable to verify their particulars online can go to a Singapore overseas mission that also serves as an overseas registration centre, of which there are 10, said ELD.

The missions are in Beijing, Canberra, Dubai, Hong Kong, London, New York, San Francisco, Shanghai, Tokyo and Washington, DC.

Singaporeans whose names were removed from the voter rolls because they failed to vote in a past election can still apply to have their names restored, ELD said.

Under the law, Singaporeans will not be able to restore their names during the period between the Writ of Elections being issued until after Nomination Day if the election is not contested or until after Polling Day, if there is a contest.

“They will consequently not be able to cast their vote at GE2025,” ELD said.

It added that overseas Singaporeans whose names are in the Registers of Electors can register to vote by post or in person at one of the 10 overseas polling stations.

Registration can be done through the ELD website or physically at one of the 10 Singapore overseas missions.

To qualify, overseas Singaporeans would have needed to have resided in Singapore for an aggregate of at least 30 days within a three-year period before the day they register to be an overseas voter.

Registration is open throughout the year but applications will not be processed from the third day after the election writ is issued until after Nomination Day if the election is not contested or until after Polling Day if there is a contest.

“We encourage eligible overseas Singaporeans to register as overseas electors early if they wish to vote overseas at GE2025,” ELD said.

Progress Singapore Party

PSP made quite the splash in the previous general election, securing the best-performing loss of the GE in West Coast GRC, which in turn propelled Hazel Poa and Leong Mun Wai into parliament as NCMPs.

During a walkabout in Taman Jurong, now part of the West Coast-Jurong West constituency, Tan Cheng Bock said this area was "not new to him", he also said the party was keeping their "options open".

So can they build on their impressive debut in the last election?

Under our established criteria, technically everyone who ran for PSP in 2020 was a new candidate back then since that was their maiden election, but who might join the still relatively new party this time round?

Angela Oon

A former WP candidate for Nee Soon in 2011, Oon has been in PSP since 2020.

Image from PSP Facebook

Oon has been seen on walkabouts in the Chua Chu Kang area.

Potential constituencies: Chua Chu Kang GRC

Lawrence Pek

The former Secretary-General of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation was pictured with PSP's Leong Mun Wai at the National Day reception at the Istana.

Image from Pek's Facebook

According to a PSP video highlighting some of their volunteers, Pek said he met Leong around Aug. 2023, and that was how he got involved with PSP.

Potential constituencies: Chua Chu Kang GRC

Sani Ismail

The managing director of management consultancy firm Deesolo International has been touted as a potential candidate for the upcoming election, he also has one of those Facebook pages we talked about.

According to Zaobao, Sani has been involved with PSP since mid-2024. While he has been spotted in the Chua Chu Kang area, he was also part of the three new faces that was in the Taman Jurong walkabout.

Potential constituencies: Chua Chu Kang GRC

Stella Stan Lee

Lee, a former TV journalist, has been seen on walkabouts at the Chua Chu Kang area, and has been with the PSP since early 2024.

She was also one of the three new faces (Sani Ismail and Sumarleki) that joined Tan Cheng Bock on his walkabout at Taman Jurong.

Potential constituency: Chua Chu Kang GRC

Stephanie Tan

Tan is a full-time housewife and a former legal counsel. She was spotted with Tan Cheng Bock at the walkabout on Feb. 23 where he confirmed he was running.

Image from PSP West Coast FB

Tan has been with the PSP since Aug. 2023.

When asked if Tan would be running in the upcoming election, CNA reported Tan Cheng Bock as saying: "Are you asking me my secret? I’m not telling you, you will see it on nomination day".

She was also at their recent walkabout at Jurong West, along with Angela Oon and Lawrence Pek.
