The Mystery of the Eldest Daughter
In a rebirth story, she would definitely be the earlier version of the FL. Interestingly, so far this series has removed the rebirth element (which was in the original novel) but there are questions:
- why is the ML's daughter 5 yo when his wife died after 2 yrs?
- why do we never see her full face?
- why are there almost no flashbacks to her and the ML's life together?
- why is her name not in the family register?
It is possible she and the FL are one and the same person. If so, this also makes the romance between the FL and ML much more acceptable. Otherwise, the ML is essentially a scheming widower with a child, who was once married to the FL's sister.
ML Actor
Previously only saw this guy in a few scenes in The Legend of Shen Li so moi didn't have any opinion on his acting. However, here, strictly speaking, his acting is not up to mark. The more episodes are out, the more obvious this gets. For example...
Scene 1: When the FL disrobed in front of him, his face is totally blank. His body doesn't move at all, he's just standing there. Wasted opportunity to show complexity/depth in the character.
Scene 2: When the FL tried to kill him the 3rd time, his face is also totally blank. Another wasted opportunity.
It's a pity as the actor is handsome and the character he plays is not boring.
